I brought in some cookies I created and asked her to make a pairing. It was delicious. they really know their stuff.

I love this shop! I never knew tea could be so cool. Everyone is super helpful in helping me find flavors that I like. (With the right amount of kick.) I love that there are samples to try as well. There is always something new with all the seasonal and specialty teas they offer. Stop in if you haven't already.

The tea is incredible, I look forward to visiting every six weeks when I get my hair done at the salon next door. The tea options are plentiful and they have a small selection of other items you can buy like zen adaptogenic honey! I love finding new and unique options for my tea. I’ve also tried the snacks and had the most delicious cookie bar style treat, truly delightful.

The only reason I gave four stars instead of five is because the male person who works there is not friendly at all. I’m surprise they have chosen to work in a customer facing job.

No milk or cream on site which is a big problem for a tea place. Needless to say, a LOT of people take cream with black tea.

Good tea, but not so good atmosphere.

I love the tea here and all, and id go out of my way to get some from here too since its to DIE for, i wouldnt exactly want to come here and stay a while. One of the employees at the store (i dont know his name) seems pretty agressive and hostile and it ruins the othereise pleasant and relaxing vibe of the cafe. The other coworker, the lady that works there, is a very sweet person in comparison which kind of helps this, but i get the feeling that the male eorker will throw us out if we so much as look at him wrong. I feel like hes glaring at us as well when we do sit and stay there for tea.

In all, i feel like im unwelcome there, and same goes for my wife. I dont understand why.

On an unrelated note: try the mint tea! You will LOVE it!

Two visitors from Canada wanted to check out this place after hearing about it online. Nestled in Wallingford I actually didn't know it existed until they asked me to take them there. The store was very clean, they had a sample area set up, the support of LGBTQIA community was clear, they had some delicious tea pastries like danish wedding cookies and jam cookies, etc. from a local bakery on 45th. Their tea collection was respect worthy. But of particular note to me was the customer service. Mori was so great about providing helpful education about the different kinds of teas, what they were known for historically, how they function now, and was like a librarian of teas. This would be one of my first choices for a place to get a solid a tea education.

I’ve been to this place multiple times and the selections of teas are always top notch but the service today was horrendous. I understand people have their off days but this morning was unacceptable. I walked in and asked for my usual order and the person at the register asked me to be more specific I tried to be as specific as I could be and he said we don’t carry that one anymore we rotate our tea. After staring at the selections for a minute trying to think of what else to order, I asked the server very kindly “oh im sorry I didn’t catch your name” and he respond very rudely saying I never gave it to you. At this moment he seemed very hostile. I simply replied that I wanted to ask for a recommendation. He kept insisting we didn’t have the tea I wanted but I told him I was fine with that. He seemed to have a problem and so I left. I don’t know what went wrong in this interaction but the cashier was extremely rude and not helpful at all. Please talk to your employees as there is no reason to behave like that.

Friday Afternoon’s is my go-to spot for tea! There’s so many amazing blends and single origin teas, and it’s been a delight working my way through their amazing catalog. Always looking forward to adding a new tea to my collection from them!

I ordered several bags of tea online. They were delivered quickly and super delicious. This tea shop knows what they’re doing.

Did not like the atmosphere, tea or the snarky passive comments when I asked about honey for the tea. I wanted to try some of the event brite tea shops here but I will not be back.

Great little tea shop!

3 tables inside + 2 "comfy" chairs near window. We sat outside which was nice.

Order 1: Unsmoked Lapsong
My notes: Sweet, stone fruit cobbler, bright

Order 2: Lao Cong Oolong
My notes: Grilled zucchini, greenish mid range oxidation leading to more vegetable notes

We will be back to play one of their boardgames while trying more teas :)

Really wanted to like this place but was treated to an extraordinarily hostile employee on my first visit, around 6pm Saturday May 18.

We were the only ones in the store, when we walked in just got glared at. Got single word answers to questions (“so you guys have classes and tasting sessions? “Sometimes.” “Are there any that we can smell?” “No”)

Unclear why, especially compared to other reviews. Possibly because we were a male-female pair and both Asian in a pretty gay and white branded store?

Anyway, it’s a shame because I’m a huge tea person and had this place on my radar for a while but felt extremely unwelcome here. I advise others to stay away!

The tea shop is very quiet inside with enough chairs and tables to drink and read for a long period of time. If you are a fan of their assortment of tea leaves, you can now get a in-person look to peruse various unique combinations you can only find at Friday Afternoon. I really enjoyed de-caffeinating and soak in the quiet away from the busy outside streets. There aren't that many snacks to go with the tea, though. Inside is smaller than I thought from having looked at the pictures, but has that cozy atmosphere.

First encountered Friday Teas at a local convention a few years ago and I really love all the different blends and such they have, but going to the shop itself is a whole new experience! Played a really cute boardgame with my friend while sipping some expertly made tea. The staff is so knowledgeable and was willing to talk to me about tea and how to brew it and the history of it. I learned so much!I don't get up to that part of the city often, but Friday Afternoon is a mandatory stop whenever I do!
