Our Italian Language group met at Fuel in Wallingford for coffee and conversation. The café is bright and welcoming with plenty of space for our group. I had a double shot of espresso like normal, which came with sparkling water. The coffee was good. The service was fantastic.
Used to go here all the time, but in the last few years it seems the quality has gone down (seems like my milk in my latte is constantly burnt?) and prices have skyrocketed. It's $1.25-1.75 more per drink than other comparable or better shops in the same neighborhood.
The mocha I got tastes more like a latte. Tried stirring it thinking the rest of the chocolate must be at the bottom, nope. Seems like it's just the recipe this cafe uses. I get that this place is paying a livable wage, but for $8 I thought the mocha would have an actual chocolate flavor to it.
