The barista working yesterday was really nice and despite being half-caff, the espresso in my drink was really tasty! The space itself is homey without feeling cluttered, which can be a hard balance to strike. I felt a little uncomfortable talking with my companions because so many people were getting work done on their laptops, but it's 2025, so that will happen anywhere.

Good coffee chill atmosphere and I enjoyed reading a book there. Wish they had a little more diversity of genres was 90% fantasy books but I understand it’s a small space and that could be what they’re going for. I found a book I enjoyed reading and enjoyed my time there.

This quickly became my favorite coffee shop during my trip to Seattle. We stopped by almost every day, and it was easily a highlight of the trip. The coffee is absolutely outstanding, and the charming bookstore attached makes it even more special.
It’s the kind of place I could see myself visiting daily if I lived here. Highly recommended — a must-visit spot in Capitol Hill!
FYI they also have outdoor sitting area in the back as well!

1- the barista was not that much happy I was there, she asked me what I wanted while making coffee for someone else with lots of noise;
2- she messed up my drink twice, one for milk and one for size;
3- she charged me 20% (or more) tip without my permission!

The girl making coffee was soooo rude to me and my friend and my daughter. My friend asked her how her day was going and she flipped out on us… Not to mention today is my friend’s birthday and the barista started her day off on a very bad note.
Please fix the attitude of your barista. Pls and thx

So this is a hard review to write. Firstly I want to say I love books and coffee so Fuel Coffee should have been it.
The atmosphere is amazing. We came here three days in a row because my daughter loved the hot chocolate and the books. Even found the food okay. My challenge is the barista on 08/14 and 08/15 was SO RUDE, as if she was doing us a favour by providing us any service. On 08/15 my wife came with me and she said the same thing. She dumped the food into a plate, was rude when ordering and basically did not show any interest in serving. I had noticed this on day 2 but when she repeated the behaviour on day 3, I decided to not come here again.
I went down below in the reviews and saw similar negative reviews on the barista.

Very cute coffee shop / book store. The location is small and cozy, perfect for hanging an getting some work done. The chairs are a little uncomfortable but pretty standard for a coffee shop. The store offers a nice selection of drinks and books, I went with an iced oat milk latte and a scone. The latte was decent and the scone was a little plain for the cost. Overall the store is worth checking out and working from.
