Ridiculously expensive. They used to justify this with a sign that said they didn’t accept tips and paid a living wage. That sign is gone and now they are prompting for tips. Just go to Macrina down the street.
Their vibes are better than their coffee and their coffee is pretty great. This is a really great place to find a new book or a book you love, and an excellent place to work with perfect lighting and dual corner seats. They also support the local community.

Very EXPENSIVE and not remotely worth it. $12.25 for a flavorless oat latte that wasn’t even full to the top. Seattle is expensive but this is robbery and the service was bad.
Solid coffee and a simple collection of pastries. Friendly service.

Hypocrisy at its finest.
For those not aware, this establishment is going to reintroduce tipping and service fees, in addition to their employees getting $21.30 an hour.
So now that employees will be getting $21.30 an hour plus tips — that’s great for them, but if that’s truly about fairness, shouldn’t menu prices go down to reflect it? The messaging here feels completely inconsistent. You can’t claim to stand for “fairness” while charging customers higher prices and still expecting tips on top. It’s a perfect example of Seattle’s performative “progressivism” — all talk about equity, until it comes time to actually make it fair for the customer too.

Ive read some of the reviews as I recently started working in the neiborhood, and my experiences was quite a bit different, I ordered a Carmel oatmilk latte to go, staff was super friendly, price was fair, and coffee was surprisingly good! A little sweet but the staff offered to add more espresso when making the drink, I prefer it sweet sooo 👍 I've paid more at top pot for a coffee that tasted watered down. This wasn't. No hate to top pot the staff is great but coffee could be better.
Had a great matcha latte with 24g honey and oat milk. Cairo was attentive and precise with the measurements. I really appreciated that the matcha powder wasn’t premixed with sugar, which is rare to find. It still had the perfect touch of bitterness, even after the honey. Plus, there’s a cozy bookstore tucked right inside, loved that!

This morning, (7/11) I was surprised to find the cafe closed, as it’s usually my go-to spot after my morning run around 7am. No sign on the door or anything. Hopefully everything is alright and somebody was just running late.

I went to try out their summer menu and the barista Cairo made me a fantastic Cherry Bomb. It was one of the best summer coffee drinks I’ve ever had, I’ll be back to have it again!
Super friendly barista, Kairo killed it making my lavender rights matcha :)
