Stopped by on a whim. The atmosphere is nice, server was fantastic. Now the food…that’s where we were left dissatisfied. We’ll start with the good: the chips and salsa are fantastic. Now the bad: We ordered the carne asada which comes with papas bravas. We ordered the meat cooked medium, and we got medium well. This is a pet peeve of mine so I wasn’t so thrilled but at least it was still O K as I didn’t feel like sending it back. Whatever the sauce under the meat was saved it. Now to papas bravas…this item clashed so so much with the meat it felt like they shouldn’t be served together. It was very jarring to my taste buds and just not a good pairing flavor-wise. Also they just were not good at all. We left them untouched. Underwhelming food that is NOT worth the price, but great service.

I had such a great experience at this place that I felt compelled to write a review the minute I walked away. As an LA native always looking for solid Mexican cuisine in the PNW, this place met my needs. My mezcal margarita was a bit sour, which is why I’m giving 4 stars, but overall everything else tasted great! Also, the kitchen staff working hard to serve us a yummy meal made me feel like they genuinely cared. I will be coming back!

Truly delicious authentic Mexican food in Ballard! Everything we had was so fresh and flavorful. We were fighting over the leftovers the next day! My favorites were the guacamole and the pork belly taco. I’m dreaming of coming back again.
Food here is excellent. The calamari was so fresh and tender. The service is outstanding each time we come.
If I were to have any critique, I think their margaritas could use a little extra love, but this is one of my favorite places to eat in Ballard.
