Your bread and muffins are both incredibly good.
What leaves a bad taste in your mouth is when its comes time to pay.
The other day I came in and bought a muffin. After inserting my card, the screen was turned around to meand ask me how much I wanted to tip. Yeah, remember, the lady reached in grabbed my muffin and handed it to me. I was put in a bed position so not to be embarrassed, I decided I would tip her 15%.
Well that option is no longer available. The three choices now start at 23%, 27% and 30%.
What you're doing is creating a situation that makes your patrons feel incredibly uneasy.
First of all, starting them at 23% is absurd.
The majority of people are going to hit that button stemming from an uncomfortable and uneasy situation that they're you've confronted them with. The others are going to put no tip and feel like they've done something wrong.
Come on grateful bread. You're too good for this type of behavior.

Tomato soup was very good and coffee is nice too. Lots of seating with a small private parking lot.

They have the best roasted cinnamon rolls in the entire world and I will not have to die on that hill because If anybody comes to fight me I will shove a cinnamon roll in their mouth and we will laugh together. I don't have the many many pictures of cinnamon rolls I have eaten on my phone at the moment, so here is a picture of my cat imitating how I look when I eat cinnamon rolls from G. B.

Grateful Bread is my favorite bakery/cafe in Seattle. The croissants are so flaky, the coffee is good, the veggie sandwiches are awesome and of course the breads and bagels are delicious. Service is quick and friendly. Love this spot.

I got delivery from here 6 months ago and I still think about my bacon egg and cheese on an onion bagel with that molasses cookie. It was so so so good.

Whether it's for a quick lunch or a chill place to get some work or study done, this is the place I would go!
My friend and I came for lunch on a Thursday around 12:15p. Upon entry, there was a long line, however, it moved very quickly. Despite the long line, it was not crowded once everyone sat down.
I got the Chicken Caprese Panini and a cup of tomato soup which came out quickly and warm. This was definitely my comfort food on a cold, rainy Seattle day. I got the almond croissant to go for breakfast tomorrow.
The best part of this place? They have a private parking lot. Even if the parking lot is full, it is pretty easy to park in the neighborhood and walk over. Highly recommend!
