Grateful Bread is a neighborhood gem. Their scones are the perfect consistency. Their bread and sandwiches will turn any bad day around. And the staff are just downright delightful.

We adore this neighborhood spot. Good breads, bagels and coffee. Years ago their lox spread was fantastic. Over the years they kept reducing the amount of lox and now it’s basically plain cream cheese. Other than that this place remains a family favorite

Listen…I’ve been coming here for decades. I love it. The baked goods are the best, and until recently the sandwiches were a go to.
In the past month or so the Monday food crew has been failing every single Monday without fail. Constant mess ups, things missing that I pay extra for, blatant disregard of what’s on the ticket (no mustard, then drenched in mustard …?). I brought it up with a staff member who’s been working there for a while. They assured me it’s a training issue, bought my breakfast, and I was hopeful!!! Went on a Tuesday and the food was back to perfection!! Until today…the dreaded Monday. I ordered what I get every week, and checked before I left…because Monday crew. Of course the cheese was missing, which I pay extra for….so I ask if they can add the cheese to my sandwich, and the person just hands me cold pieces of cheese to add myself. I mean I can definitely do that, but like really? A huge bummer that the food keeps getting messed up. Hopefully the review will spark change because clearly the conversation I had with that staff member didn’t do the trick.

I have been coming to Grateful Bread for years. I always love the food, coffee and other drinks. I highly recommend a bagel with the sun-dried tomato and basil cream cheese. The staff are always friendly and helpful. Looking forward to my next visit!

Great food, quick service and I felt very welcome as a member of the LGBTQ+ community to sit and eat my order in the cafe.

We try so hard to want to like this place, but yesterday just reminded me why I will never go back. This is our 4th time at this place because we are so limited on options in Wedgwood. It was a Monday, NOT exactly the weekend or anywhere close to it. The restaurant is old, tired and worn out. The parking is terrible, but not a deal breaker for me. The staff are nice and try their best to work and serve their customers. The main problem is the bakery and food they serve is just low quality and just bad. They don't seem to stock enough EVER and if you are there after lunch, just forget it because its barren. Even when i have been there when they were fully stocked, the pastries are just mediocre and can be purchased at QFC. The soup is so watery, sandwiches are dry and ingredients are so low quality. I wished I could find just ONE cafe or place anywhere in Seattle where the food has actual FLAVOR, options and does not involve me taking out a special loan to pay for it. Seattle is simply NOT a serious food city!

I love this place and have gone here for many years! Their bagels are delicious and they give you loads of whipped cream cheese. My fave is the garlic bagel. Their loaves of freshly baked bread are fabulous and such a great deal! A whole loaf of multi-grain, sliced is around $7.50. It will keep for up to a week in the fridge, so much better than store bought that’s loaded with preservatives. Their soups and quiches are delicious and for a sweet treat, their almond croissants are DIVINE!

Terrible system of running a business, with mediocre baked goods. When ordering a large order I had to pay and then restate my whole order to a new person to give me my goods. With this system I payed for 7 things but only got 6. On top of this some regular customer lady was yelling at for ordering when she was behind me in line, she apologized but it totally ruined the Atmosphere. I will not be going here again!

Great place. A bit expensive as refill is $1. But great environment, great feel of what seattle was like before the tech takeover.
Old seattle cafe thankfully not converted into some new sterile looking place that is now plaguing Seattle.

I'm gonna say it...best bagels in the city. Their everything bagel with the salmon lox cream cheese?? Best thing I've ever tasted and I think about it all the time. The indoor-outdoor porch situation is so nice and I love the atmosphere. If you're not there for breakfast definitely get the soup of the day, it has never steered me wrong. Absolutely one of my favorite spots in the area.
