DO NOT BUY THEIR LOX!!! The bagels at Hey Bagels are our favorite in Seattle. That said, I bought their lox for the first time today and it was disgusting. It literally tasted like mold and didn’t even taste like salmon. I couldn’t spot it out fast enough and it was the worst excuse for lox that I’ve ever tried in my life. As a 60 year old Jew from NY, I have eaten a lot of lox. The employee also charged me for one more bialy than I ordered (didn’t put an extra one in my bag just overcharged me). Long story short, great place for bagels but be sure to check your receipt and avoid their NASTY lox!

best bagels in seattle but expensive
I’m sure for some people this bagel place may be okay If you want a broken tooth.. I found the bagels to be very hard, they were very similar to the bagels you can get at the Safeway deli but harder and considering they do not make sandwiches or put the spread on.. it’s low service at a high dollar.. I’m sure a lot of people like it because it’s in a trendy area and it’s the thing to do.. Somebody actually recommended it to me.. There are definitely better options all around .. disappointed is an understatement..

Bagels were awesome! Some of the best. Bialys were ok but I wouldn’t get again. Had to wait for bagels to come out of the oven. Atmosphere was loud and line seems to be long all the time. Staff were doing their job but I wouldn’t say they were friendly.

Settled in the heart of U Village. This relatively new bagel spot has already garnered high praise and recognition for their bagels. They offer poppy seed, sesame, salt, plain, garlic and something called a biali flavors.
The lines can be long at times but dont give up it goes fast.

This is a nice bagel shop. They have a variety of flavours and their shmears are very good, particularly the spicy scallion. The everything bagel is really good , except that it’s a little too salty. There’s also very limited standing space and there’s always a line up.

Decent prices and pretty good. I had to go again and buy the big spicy scallion cream cheese. 🥰 line also goes fast!

This place had a very long line so we were hesitant to go in but the line goes by very quickly and once you get in there the experience is very simple. Just point at the bagel that you want based on how it looks. And a half a dozen is only $19.50!

Quite possibly the best bagel in Seattle. They cook continuously throughout the day, so it was still warm from the oven. Ripping and dipping the bagel in schmear was surprisingly delightful.

You are joking. A cold, unsliced, un toasted bagel with a half ounce cup of cream cheese on the side!? Having a pastel colored logo does not make you a good business it makes you a trendy one. I feel like opening a bagel shop and taking their spot in the village because LITERALLY ANYONE CAN DO BETTER. You served me a leather wallet with a drop of cream cheese in a plastic cup, thanks $10 💩
super tasty bagels: perfectly crackly exterior and fluffy/chewy interior! do note that they’re meant to be unsliced; you rip off parts of the bagel to dip into cream cheese; and they’re meant to be eaten asap. on weekends, the line can be around the building.
the slight gamble you get coming to heybagel is getting ice cold bagels that have been sitting around though. sometimes the bagel you choose will be cold and a bit stale. they don’t toast/warm bagels, so you kinda get stuck with a cold bagel and cold cream cheese 😔 this has happened to me and/or my friends a few times.
despite that, i would still take the gamble again because 7/10 times they’re warm, delicious bagels. i probably wouldn’t wait in a long line though.
other details: no seating inside; some standing counter space available; but you can find seating right outside in the uvillage courtyard. they serve anchorhead coffee here.

Best bagels in Seattle. Time your visit strategically, they're sometimes very busy with a lineup out the door but other times just a short wait.

Vastly overhyped. Bagel was fine, but not warm and the interior is a bit gummy. They refuse to slice and don’t toast. I understand a no-toast policy so as not to hold up the line, but refusing to slice is just annoying… especially as I was the only one in the store at the time. Mt Bagel, Old Salt, and Backyard are all better experiences in my opinion.
