Large iced tea on this 90 degree day, pleasant stop 🧊

Their food is great here, from pastries to sandwiches to quiche, all very consistent. The coffee is a B to me, could be improved but not bad. Lovely cozy vibes tucked away in a nice part of Wallingford

I love this place so much. Awesome food and staff. Great at striking the balance between food and beverage- it feels like a true cafe. The atmosphere is super cozy and warm.

The local spot. Good coffee and good food, we walk our dogs here all the time.

A very popular commmunity cafe, open early, closes end of day which is handy. Dog freindly, quaint little spot to air indoor or outdoor. Always people with laptops and families catching up over a coffee. Food is baked onsite and probably the best croissants in Seattle. Crunchy and flaky not soft and doughy like Wholefoods and Fred Myer.
They also have delicious bagels and choc chip cookies. Great coffee too..not sure what bean they use but its a good flavor.

Good bakery and simple (delish) breakfast and lunch!

Best homemade carrot cake I have ever had!!!

We passed by this place many times and it looks so cozy and nice. However, the food and drinks we got were all pretty much flavorless. We got two cheese/egg bagels and chai latte. I don’t recommend getting these items but since all were flavorless we probably won’t risk trying other items here.

Very cute neighbourhood cafe - limited seating but tables clear up quite quickly. Lots of people come here to read/work. Coffee was great! I got the bagel sandwich - food was decent, very diner-like (slightly on the greasier side) but a tad overpriced, in my opinion. Service was great, staff were super nice.

Irwin’s is more than a cafe. It is a home! A community gathering space! The best third place I’ve found in Seattle! It satisfies the entire human hierarchy of needs. Don’t believe me? See below.

Physiological needs - what more is there to this than a bowl of coffee and a big slice of marionberry pie?
Safety needs - i could weather the apocalypse in here. I could get a job here if I needed. the vibes are too good for the evils to enter this space, like a church keeping out demons.
Love and belonging - I’ve made friends here! the baristas remember my name! Someone once asked me out here using a paper airplane!
Esteem - I feel incredibly cool sitting by the window and watching the world go by. everyone outside sees me and thinks wow, look at that cool sexy girl with her vegan Caesar salad and her 30oz coffee, what profound ideas about the universe must she be coming up with right now?
Self-actualization - the people here inspire me to become the best version of myself. perhaps someday I too will open a neighborhood cafe that satisfies every human need.

If I could live in Irwin’s Neighborhood Bakery and Cafe I would, and I would be the happiest girl alive.

Great local place! A little tight inside and difficult to navigate, especially during rush times, but nothing too crazy. Their signature Eggel was decent, but felt like it was missing a special something, maybe hot sauce or chives (former barista & sous chef). Coffee is the highlight here; the drip available was very smooth and full of rich undertones, and being sustainably sourced gets you bonus points especially among diehard Seattle coffee drinkers. Espresso is more of the same, although admittedly I do need to try more to get a full scope. You can tell the staff care about their craftsmanship here and are not just trying to churn you out the door like any old Starbucks (stop going there btw!) Very cordial, friendly staff, nice clean bathroom, great music playing (Elliot Smith for an hour straight SIGN ME UP), love the bulletin board with local events posted, will definitely be frequenting this place!!

Over $7 for an 8 oz latte (with alternative milk) - won’t be coming back 🫠

Absolutely love this place! Amazing coffee and food. The service can be brusk but it adds to the neighborhood feel somehow. Very dog friendly.

Service was wonderful and my soy latte was really tasty. The noise inside was a nice level for having easy conversation. The only downside was while they are cooking the haze and smells were a bit too diner-like for me and I smelled like it afterwards. But if you don’t mind that, great place!
