Seattle waterfront walk-up. Second time I paid for but didn’t get my entire order. First time I didn’t get my fish. This time I didn’t get my two orders of coleslaw.
Very disappointed in our order at the Marysville Ivar's. Used to love Ivar's but the fish pieces were 1/2 the size as they used to be and mostly breading rather than fish. We were both shocked as you used to be able to count on a consistent product. Waste of money on the 3 piece dinners
Everett Ivars Seafood is Clean and professional staff. 5 star
Long time diner at this wonderful restaurant. Great place for family gatherings and a casual meal.
Thank you, Mimi at the cruise port, for suggesting this spot! Food was great and server even better. And sat right by the water ?

The worst pricey lunch I’ve ever had. Seriously. First, they wouldn’t just up-charge their “world famous garlic fries” for the regular fries that come with their fish n chips. So that doubled the cost of lunch. Second, both servings of fries were barely edible. Bland. Bad texture. The garlic was loose with no way to keep it on the fries. And no utensils to assist. Third, the 3 almost fish stick size pieces of fish had a tough texture. Ugh. A $35 pretty much inedible lunch. Can’t imagine any reason to recommend.

This review covers the Ivar's outside fish bar by the waterfront. Sitting outside watching the seagulls while enjoying a late lunch of fried clams (or fish) with chips is a pleasant Seattle experience. The food tastes fresh and arrives fairly quickly, making Ivar's a no-frills stop worth considering.
Fun spot on the waterfront - cheaper than eating inside. The seagulls will provide great entertainment. Food was good but nothing special.
From the hostess to the waiter, the staff is inattentive and bored. The waitstaff wear black pants and shirts, and our waiter's clothing was very dirty. My salad was good but my salmon was disappointing. The wine selection was paltry. I found nothing about this restaurant to recommend.
We enjoyed the gorgeous clam chowder on two of our nights in Seattle!!!! We were fortunate to walk passed the fish bar and stop for a coffee. We watched people feeding the seagulls something you definitely wouldn’t do in the U.K. as ours are way too aggressive. We returned later in the evening to enjoy clam chowder in a bread bowl and fish and chips. Both were fresh and delicious. That good we returned the next evening. There are lots of outdoor sitting areas and an inside area. It was lovely just watching the world go by and seeing the seagulls being fed. Did we feed them of course with the rest of the bread bowl the fries were too nice to share

Ivar’s Fish Bar at Pier 54 is a must-have experience in my book! The food is delicious and the hungry but mostly friendly seagulls flocking around you as you sit outside are a heck of a sight to behold. You can feed the Seagulls to your heart’s content, but they didn’t seem aggressive and never approached an occupied table. I had a delicious Clam Chowder in a sourdough bread bowl, and my wife had the 3 piece fish and chips. The chips must have been good because she didn’t share any with the seagulls, but we both had a fun time tossing the leftover bread bowl pieces at them. If you’re not feeling brave enough for the up-close Seagull encounters and just want to enjoy an uninterrupted meal, there is an undercover area available as well.
Best take away, great for an inexpensive feed of fish n chips. The cod and chips are delicious Perfectly cooked with crumbs and fish tender. The clam chowder is tasty and filling. You can always manage to fund a seat.
Food good, a little pricey although quality is high. Not the same could be said about the server, once he learnt there was no extra tipping. A thank you and have a good night would have been appreciated especially....... we had spent a coupe of hundred dollars in an hour !
Had a great experience here. Price is moderate to high but food quality/portion size/service were outstanding. Parking was not bad - just across the highway. Facilities were very clean. Will definitely have it on the list for a future visit.
I live right down Alaskan Way from Ivar's fish bar and have to say they do a really nice job. On cold, rainy winter days nothing beats picking up a tanker of their famous clam chowder and a basket of their Wild Alaska Pollock fish and chips to keep you warm on the inside and a give you a smile on the outside. As a "local", I can say Ivar's is about as authentic as Seattle seafood gets.
