I think the quality and amount of food that you get here has improved more recently. I had the fried fish sandwich this time- I was impressed

Once I looked at others reviews, I knew I wasnt the only one who didnt really taste jerk seasoning in my jerk chicken 😅 I came in today at 4 pm and I ordered the jerk chicken sandwich and tostones. My experience was not good. I really like the atmosphere but the food was unpleasant to eat. When I got there, I was the only one there when I arrived yet they burnt the bread on the outside of my sandwich... If they were crazy busy Id understand. The jerk chicken didnt really taste like jerk chicken at all and I dont know if the chicken burnt as well but it was crunchy and dried out. I dont know what flavoring is in the coleslaw but it was really bitter and unpleasant to eat. Also the tostones were $7 for just a tiny portion and it wasnt great 😭I was so excited there was a Jamaican restaurant nearby but Im disappointed the meal wasnt as good as I anticipated. I dont have any pictures so people will just have to take my word for it, but Im not one for writing scathing reviews. Im just disappointed in the quality and lack of care put into my meal.

This was first time here at Jerk shack and it is going to be my last. I was the first customer of the day and everything was dry and bland. I’m so disappointed in the meal.

The jerk shack use to be my favorite go to. I would make a weekly drive over an hour to get the half chicken meal. Everything was always so delicious 😋 however since they moved the food is mid at best and tonight was big disappointment my plantains were not even edible. And the mushrooms had so much seasoning it was overwhelming.

Amazing food, but questionable service fees. The jerk chicken and fish were 5/5 stars—perfectly cooked and flavorful. That said, they charge a mandatory 20% tip for what is basically a takeout experience (disposable containers/no table service). Great flavors, but be prepared for the 'hidden' cost at the counter.

My Mac and cheese was grey. Whatever they’re trying to do to fancy it up doesn’t do it for me. My father is Caribbean and this place I have only been repeatedly disappointed by. Not spending any more money here no matter how good they try to make it look. I’m ALWAYS disappointed when I take a bite. I’ve tried to get the jerk chicken, po boy, fish sandwhich and I’ve tried all the sides when they are available. Maybe my standards are high, but it doesn’t feel like it when I can go to south Seattle and get better caribbean food basically anywhere..

If you have ever been to jerk shack in downtown Seattle and that’s what you’re expecting, THIS IS NOT IT! I got a Jerk Chicken plate and it comes with rice and peas, slaw and plantains. I also got a beef patty. My rice had no peas and was bland, my chicken was dry and small, my slaw had no sauce and honestly they should have just called it chopped raw cabbage. My beef patty was cold and resembled the microwavable ones from Costco. I’m so upset because today is my birthday and I chose Jerk shack because I had been to the one in downtown Seattle near the Crocodile and I loved it. NONE of their desserts were available. Actually, they were out of a lot of menu items. If this is the new Jerk Shack, I won’t be going back.

Not carnivore friendly. I asked if I could have just the meat portion, but was told no. They apparently have a rule against serving just protein. It's too bad. I probably would have been a repeat customer. I cannot rate their food, but the service was disappointing to say the least.

I eat here often over the past two months. The food is delicious. I was shocked to see a review by Aujanae Mckinney trashing the food here. Firstly, the beans and rice aren't bland or dry. They are always perfect for me. As we know in Seattle, many restaurants in the CD do not use as much salt as some would like because black people respond to salt with high blood pressure. If you aren't aware of this Seattle response to salt please educate yourself. People in Seattle often have to add salt because we keep salt to a bare minimum in order to prevent half the population from stroke and heart attack. I am used to this and have never noticed a lack of salt or spice in anything at Jerk Shack and I am used to spice heat. The award winning Brionzi fish is in fact complex and exceptionally delicious. It is actually my favorite dish in Seattle. The Jerk Ribs are not overly fatty, they are perfect imo. The meat tastes seasoned throughout not just on top, and is always moist. I love these ribs! I especially love the greens. I don't know what that reviewer's issue is, I've eaten here about five times in two months. Their food is consistently exceptional. We are lucky to have this high quality of food nearby in the CD. I couldn't care less if its authentic Caribbean food, it tastes good.

All i’ll say is that if you’re jamaican or Caribbean, don’t come here. you’ll be disappointed. the jerk doesn’t taste like jerk at all, every single meat option is dry, the rice and peas don’t taste right and the fried plantain is never ripe enough.

I had a great experience. I want to particularly mention the black dude from Ghana 🇬🇭. He is one of the most fascinating worker I’ve met. He responded to me in a friendly and warm manner. He’s such a steal from the owner.

I had chicken and plantain bowl and it was nice.

Ordered the jerk sandwich and fries as well as the Mac and cheese. The sandwich was disappointing and not well seasoned. It tasted disappointedly bland. Upset after waiting an hour from ordering.
