I was a massive fan of the old Jerk Shack! Space was amazing, food was incredible, and the drinks were top notch. This new space has a few of the old dishes, but it’s definitely not the same caliber. I miss the half chicken 😞

Papa sauce is still bomb, though.

The food is acceptable is you just pull up for normal food.
This isn't what you should look for if your craving a more Jamaican feel.
No gravy for the rice.
Dry rice and peas.
Drove 30mins to enjoy this as I been missing home food, I didn't find any.

Inconsiderate service.

I showed up at the CD location just before noon to an empty restaurant, with one cook and a cashier, plus a delivery driver hanging out, and ordered a jerk chicken burrito to take home.

After ordering, the cook told me there was a large order ahead of me so it’ll be a while. No prob. Nearly 10 minutes later I asked “hey, how much longer?” and got told “at least 5 more minutes”.

I was on a schedule, so I asked him to cancel my order and told the cook “this isn’t right”. The guy did refund me, but gave me a condescending lecture: “haven’t you heard of first-come-first-served? These catering orders came in this morning way ahead of you.” Another person came in and ordered while I was waiting, and the cook pointed him out to me saying “see, this is a regular, he understands how ordering works”.

Well yes, I have heard of first-come-first-served, but if you’re inconveniencing your drop in customers like this maybe you haven’t heard about “staffing appropriately”.

Or maybe tell me *before* I order that there is a 15 minute wait for my $20 (counting tip) take out burrito. Hey, if you want to prioritize catering over in-person, that’s your business. If I had gotten a “yeah, sorry” I would have understood, but instead I was made to feel like I was the one inconveniencing them.

I’m just one guy so I guess I don’t really matter to them, but no way will I be coming back. Maybe food is all that and I’m missing out, but it’s not worth the disrespect of my time to find out.

Jerk chicken was alright, a bit dry but decently crispy. Wasn’t spicy at all. Somewhat too pricy.

Trash absolute hot 'garbage .I really felt violated my meal was 100.00 not worth 2.00 . I work hard for my money!!! The first red flag was the empty restaraunt on a friday night. Rice and peas tasted stale and old hard. Straight

The food is really not the best, the jerk chicken was overly spiced, and the rice and peas was too dry. I expected more quality food for the price.

Clean, nice location. My family was excited to try this spot. We love Jamaican and Caribbean food in general and have eaten it from a variety of locations over the US. This was honestly our most disappointing meal. Looked delicious but taste was off. It doesn’t taste like Jamaican food at all. Also food was more expensive than average Jamaican spots in the area. Wouldn’t recommend and won’t be trying again.

I really wanted to love this place, especially since I enjoy jerk-spiced dishes and it's so close to home. I gave it two chances with to-go orders, but unfortunately, both were disappointing.

The jerk chicken tasted like dry, shredded grilled chicken with barely any seasoning. The jerk rib bowl was even worse--the ribs were plain and lacked flavor, leaving the double-fried bananas and side salad as the only highlights. I had to mix the rice with seasoning sauce just to make the bowl more enjoyable.
Maybe ... whitewashed Caribbean food? :(

On top of that, several menu items were unavailable when I visited during dinner hours, which was frustrating.

For real jerk food? Tastes of the Caribbean is the best bet this region.

Jerk is not sauce or seasoning, its also preparation. If you looked at these pictures and still went, you deserve what you got.

Is this place Jamaican-owned or Jamaican-inspired!?

Reply: I was ordered a jerk platter. From when it wasn't grilled, i was skeptical. Are you Jamaican or capitalizing on a cookbook you bought on vacation?

I've eaten at this location four times, ordered the Jerk Burrito and Jerk Chicken plate twice each. The second and fourth time I went my food was burnt. It seems when certain individuals are working, I notice that this happens. When the Belltown location was open I never had this issue. The food is good when cooked right but I wont spend my hard earned money on burnt food.

There are just a handful of dishes available, each with jerk chicken or mushrooms (vegan, delicious), and some with jerk pork. The sandwiches come with fries and my jerk chicken burrito had a fried plantain in it! The space is small and simple with lots of art. My only complaint is that it's SO LOUD. I think it's all noise from HVAC and refrigerator machinery? But between it and the music, it's difficult to hold a conversation.

The jerk chicken was not done. The rice was dry. They call it coleslaw, but it is merely just shredded cabbage.
