The food quality was very poor. The beef tartare was brownish, suggesting it had been precooked or left out too long and oxidized. The steak was too fatty, with tough pieces that were hard to chew. I had high hopes for the duck, but it was the worst I've ever had. The 22% service fee is already too much considering the service I received. There was no introduction to the menu, no water refills, and my plate was taken away before I finished, without asking. They also charged tax on the tip. I do not recommend this restaurant to anyone.
It was our Anniversary and a surprise dinner. Staff went above and beyond to make us feel special, adding decoration details to our table that we really appreciated. Food, exceptional. Hands down one of our top restaurants, not just in Seattle, but anywhere. Lucky it's here. We'll definitely be visiting again.
The food was generally good but the much vaunted short ribs were tough and unappetizing. Really surprising. Garlic noodles ❤️ were wonderful. Good service with a miss .. I never got my sparkling water. We were booted out of our table before we finished eating due to another party coming in (You are allowed 1.5 hours). But we were resettled in the bar table. So .. hmmmm. be forewarned
Incredible, favorite Seattle restaurant- we come here to celebrate. Consistently delicious and service is impeccable. Wonderful and talented people have worked here over the years. Between bartenders, kitchen team, servers, and manager - says a lot about their culture when you have so many talented people on the team and stay for long periods of time.
Had an awesome time! Highly recommended and the staff are a pleasure. Great drinks, food and ambience!
I've written very few reviews in my life because it seems like it's mostly the domain of Karens and people who think they're NYTimes food critics but felt this experience merited it. We went for the Indonesian tasting event on Sunday and unfortunately found a number of the dishes to be oversalted pretty heavily to the point of not really being pleasant. In particular the clams and beef rendang were the culprits. To be clear, I don't recall the last time I had this complaint when dining out and love salty stuff in general so I don't think this is a “me” issue in this case. In total we dropped over $200 for two people for a meal that we found several courses to be frankly unpleasant, so I don't think we'll be coming back.
An outstanding and unexpected experience- delicious and so different! And the price was amazing!
The Indonesian Table special was wonderful! Every dish was tasty and amazing. I loved the corn bread with crab butter. The best dish was the beef randang - I could not tell that there was a ton of coconut milk in it...so delicious! Shout out to Carter for the wonderful meal! Service and ambiance at Joule is always wonderful...the staff knew when to replace plates and take away dishes so that our table was never crowded.
It was a delightful date night experience for me and my partner and we were pleasantly surprised with how delicious everything was! We will definitely be back in the future.
Incredible food. Can't wait to go back and try the rest of the menu. I highly recommend the mackerel and the spicy rice cakes.

The service was pretty good. Most of the food was pretty salty. I don't like that they serve octopus here. Octopuses are very smart and sensitive creatures (as are all creature) but I think it is especially cruel to serve octopus. The portions were really small only a few crisps served with one of the appetizers. How much would it cost to give more crisps? There were not enough crisps for the goodness dip. This place was nice though. Good ambience, location and was not noisy. The open concept kitchen was cool. Definitely worth a try. Please take octopus off the menu though.
Delicious plates. Very good wine list. Heavy handed cocktails. Our server friendly, a real pro and made ordering easy and kept us on time!. We had a lovely meal and look forward to returning.
I've dined at Joule when they first opened in Wallingford. At that time Rachel was pregnant with their first child. Tonight we dined at the Fremont Joule and Rachel came to our table to chat. That is a good sign of a great chef. Taking care of the customers. Loved the ambiance, drinks, food, and service.
It had been quite some time since I had dined at Joule. The food had always been excellent and I had always enjoyed the ambiance. But this time the food was better than I had remembered. It was interesting and delicious. The service was great as usual and I still love the ambiance. I will be back soon!
Early dinner so we had the full attention of the staff and service was great. Very attentive and talkative -- took time to fully understand and investigate a food allergy. Food was very tasty (rice cakes, smoked tofu, summer squash, octopus).
