Kamakura Japanese Cuisine and Sushi

quality has been going downhill. got a premium sashimi platter, and the pieces were cut so thick that I almost needed a knife to eat them. go if you want to big and cheap rolls. if you are looking for authentic and good quality sushi and sashimi, this is not the place.

Went in to pick up dinner. Was greeted by the host with antagonism. His default assumption was that I was going to steal the food. Was this racism or just a cavalier, pervasive assumption that people are bad?

What I do know is that I wish people in our community would afford each other grace, kindness and generosity.

The sushi here is delicious! My favorite roll would hands down be the Karai Crunch Roll. Very big portions of raw fish on the nigiri, sashimi, and rolls like Orange/Cherry Blossom. The atmosphere of the restaurant is very calm and the warm lighting/decorations make it very enjoyable to dine in. Lastly, the servers and sushi chefs are very welcoming, kind, engaging, and attentive to your needs. Would highly recommend!

Loved their vegan sushi, we got the jalapeno one and we also tried their noodles. We're definitely coming back to try more vegan sushi!

Ordered some uni and it smelled funky. Gave one to my friend and he said it tasted fine so I tried it. Guess what happened after? We both got super sick.

Kamakura Sushi is hands down one of the best sushi spots I’ve been to, and I’d easily give it a 5/5. The sushi is fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. Ialso really appreciate that they offer great vegan options, which makes it perfect for dining with friends who have different preferences.

I ordered the spicy tuna roll as a DoorDash pickup order yesterday. There was a sharp piece of scale or something else hard in it that cut my mouth and got lodged in between my teeth. I had to go to the dentist this morning to remove it. It goes without saying, but won’t be coming back here again!

Amazing vegan sushi, not just vegetables but thoughtfully curated rolls! Their tuna is tomato based and meats are tofu so the roll was surprisingly refreshing and more delicious even than mock meats! They also have non vegan options which the rest of the people I came with really enjoyed and inside the seating is quite nice and well decorated. Our server was very kind and explained that ordering is done by the tablet at the table which was very convenient. Would definitely come back if in the area again!

The sushi was fresh, but the customer service was terrible. I was at booth two on Sunday, July 12th, 9:00pm. The waiter was rude, aggressive, and at the end, he told me that I was calling him over too much. I think he was pissed because I didn’t tip him for his bad service. Lastly I asked to go box and a bag he forgot the bag and when I asked for it again and he said we don’t have bags Because he was tired of getting things for me. He eventually brought the bag over. I’m never going there again. My friend didn’t even want to eat the food because she was scared he did something to it because he was rude.
