Came here and we ordered the chawanmushi, tempura shrimp, the warm duck breast soba, and the beef sukiyaki dipping soba.
On taste alone this restaurant is pretty good - the tempura shrimp was large and the coating wasn’t too thick. The sukiyaki beef soba was very flavorful - I would say the soup is on the salty side, but overall good. The duck warm soba was also good - especially the duck tsukune was very good. The duck meat wasn’t gamey at all.
Also, they serve you a small shot of dashi before dinner which was pretty tasty.
Aside from the taste, the price is expensive - soba bowls average $25-27, and some are $30/bowl. And the portions aren’t big - you will not feel satisfied after just a bowl of the soba.
Also, not sure why there is a mandatory 20% surcharge on every bill. The service here wasn’t anything memorable. But to be fair, our server that night also had a lot to do - he had to take our order, bring the food, make cocktails for another table, and then also take our payment.
Overall, I feel that their prices and tip policy would hold me off a second visit.

Amazing food with amazing flavor! Great vibes and atmosphere. Made my husband and I feel like we were back in Japan! The service was wonderful and everyone was so kind. It was our first time trying Soba and we will definitely be back. I highly recommend this place!

Rich, complex flavor that has you wishing to travel to Japan by the end of the meal...and loosening your belt. Highly highly recommend making reservations, my party of 2 did not and waited almost 2hrs for a walk in, although Hannyatou just next door was a great place to grab apps (and Sake) while we waited (owned by the same owner), although we both decided the soba was in fact worth the wait. We ordered 3 small plates and wished 2/3 had been tempura instead of 1/3. For our mains we got a seiro & nanban style soba and it was incredible the depth of flavor in both the noodles and broth. This is definitely not your average ramen place, but bring a warm sweater if you're visiting during winter! Because while your insides are being warmed up in paradise the small restaurant interior is drafty.

Cozy restaurant with great food. Umeshu Hot Toddy was perfect on a chilly January day. Really loved this place and I intend to go back.

Handmade Soba Daily. This is why we went there. We knew nothing about this cuisine, but it's a dietary recommendation for one of us and we found out about it from my friend. We want to go back and take friends there. I really appreciate that the waiter was so patient with us trying to figure out the new cuisine. Everything we had was amazing and we loved discovering these particular Japanese food options.

Wonderful experience having authentic Soba noodles made fresh and rolled out by hand that day.

Delicious tasting menu delivered with great service and sake pairing. We live in California but we make sure to visit Kamonegi when we are in Seattle. Don’t miss this experience!

Really good soba place with a wide variety. The tempura is fantastic and very light. They have a mix of hot, cold, meat, and vegetarian soba dishes to try. Portions are nice and large, but are lacking in the amount of meat in each dish. The small plates were quite good; try the squash and the eggplant dishes. The uni on tempura shiso was one flavor too many and felt a bit disjointed. Desserts didnt seem to live up to the excitement of the rest of the menu.
Drinks were quite good and not too expensive at $15. Service was really good throughout. The restaurant is quite small and reservations are highly recommended. A meal likely runs about $40-55/person without drinks. This restaurant is well worth a visit if in Seattle!

We ordered the eggplant tempura, kabocha “wings,” cream of morel soba, and pork birria curry. The server explained everything beautifully and was very attentive!
Tempura was delicious (eggplant might have been slightly undercooked), and the soba 🤌🏻
Cream of morel had pork belly, but the broth was the best part. Noodles cooked perfectly and served on the side.
Server said we might need to order more small plates, but we were full after the two tempuras and two soba dishes.

Been here a few times but it’s been awhile and it was sadly disappointing. Honestly the food is not bad but it’s not worth $100 for two bowls of soba and one tiny app!
The 20% built in tip (regardless of party size) doesn’t help the business imo! I get people need to make a living but this could cripple the business.
There is better handmade soba out there and it doesn’t cost no where near what this place is charging !! Even in times of inflation, this is not reasonable for the common person.

They specialize in Soba, and apparently they make the noodles fresh everyday. The food was good, and we enjoyed the atmosphere.

The restaurant is small and noisy, but the food is good. Shrimp tempera is very good! It is the best shrimp tempura I have ever had! The shrimp is fresh. The fried skin is thin and crispy. The dipping sauce is also wonderful with a little plum flavor. The uni shiso tempera is also very good! But we didn’t enjoy the soba too much. The dunk meat has good flavor and texture, but the dipping soup is very salty. Chawamushi is good with lots of flavor and soft steam egg.
They add 20% tips BEFORE tax on the check.

Bad value for the quality of food. Small portions and no standout dishes in the testing menu.
