Bartenders were too busy talking to each other to talk to the guests. Food was average. Waste of a historical space. On the plus side, apparently this place runs under NY laws where kids can sit in the bar area...or maybe that was just the bartenders not caring.

Never had the food. The atmosphere was nice until a group of guy’s homophobicly shamed my friend. They called him words and used it against his judgement, and they don’t even know him for the person he is. This is why I strain away from bars in Ballard, this would never happen in Capitol

Bad vibe, but the staff seemed to be on it. I just didn't really get good looks from a lot of the "regulars."
usually it's college girls with terrible attitudes. as if rainbows come out of their behinds. they're nothing that special.
This place kicks people out for no reason. Harassing people going in who just minding their own business.
Post 1030 on weekends they have a small dance area and the vibe is awesome. They also have board games that you can play.

On Saturday I ordered a burger with fries, the fries had too much oil and tasted very bad.

Pretty young bar so may not recommend for tourists unless you’re looking for a true college bar experience
The cocktail was pretty lackluster despite the description, but the meat pie was particularly good and the sausage roll was decent. It was historic and interesting but not very easy to have a private conversation.
Wheelchair accessibility: It is NOT accessible because of the historic nature of the building.

The staff here are a bit either racist or just annoying. I used to enjoy coming here. Recently l was constantly harassed by the staff and told to leave as soon as l got in. I am a chill and friendly guy and never cause issues. It's unfortunate that this kind of thing still happens.

Ordered takeout at 8 on Friday night, and both came wrong with side salads. No big deal, besides one person ordering sweet potato fries. When the bartender was told of the mistake, he was short but said he would fix it. After 15 minutes of waiting and having the bartender, barback, and busser sit at the outside bar I proceeded to the kitchen where the fries were sitting on the expo station. The lady behind the bar acted surprised and asked if we had paid. Would not recommend as the food was cold by the time we waited for the fries. Good atmosphere, horrible experience and outside service.
