This is a small restaurant with limited sit down seating. They do a robust takeout and delivery business so they are always busy. The servers are not on top of you but they are responsive if you need something. Food comes out as it's done.

The food is delicious, we got several things a noodle soup, beef tenderloin, chive and pork dumplings, and pork and the pickled cabbage noodle dish.

The noodle soup fish broth was amazing and so flavorful. You can choose you noodles and I chose the normal noodles which were very good. One of the toppings we chose was the pickled vegetables and they were so good.

The beef tenderloin is an appetizer and served on a bed of lettuce. The beef is so tender and the sauce on the lettuce was very good. We were a little unsure about the lettuce but it was amazing.

The dumplings are obviously homemade and they were very good. They were large and stuffed with filling.

The pork and pickled cabbage was very good. It is spicy, we thought it was a 4 out of 5 on the white people scale of spicy.

Come here if you wish to warm your tummy with delicious food, perfect for a drizzly Seattle day. The noodles here are entirely customizable (which broth, toppings, meat, and noodles you want), and every choice is delicious. I’ve never had a bad combination here. This is also my favorite spot for dumplings - they’re so huge too. This place is pretty generous with portion size. I’ve also tried the congee here before and enjoyed it. This is also the place to go for hot HK milk tea. Everything comes out piping hot and fresh, and I’ve never had a disappointing meal here.

The customer service is a little cold (and honestly, probably why this spot is not more popular considering its central location and the quality of the food), but the food definitely outweighs any issues with this.

SUMMARY
King Noodle offers customizable noodle and congee options. I liked the two different noodle types I ordered via takeout. The food comes out swiftly and accurately. Also, I like that when you dine in there tea is complementary, a soothing drink for the dark late falls-winters.

WHEN the ranking ought to be <4..

DINE-IN
If you're dining in here, this place is by no means going to meet some people's cleanliness. For example, the restroom entrance is located in the direction facing the dining area (there's NOT a hallway-like path at all that snakes its way to the restroom).

SPECIFIC SCENARIO
I regret bringing a friend here because of several moments in the dining experience where the cleanliness was a problem (from the scent to just about the tiniest of details, which, bothers me if others CARE and while we rly simply could have stepped out to try something else, it was not a good decision to keep staying. The cups were stained with finger marks; a brown residue. I didn't see it on mine but my friend had it on both her cups - one they offered in the beginning and another one they brought over, with us thinking it'd be cleaner).

SUGGESTION to the restaurant, to other patrons:
What would benefit customers from a process standpoint is if there were explanations offered by the server in what people (not as adventurous with their foods/palate) should order. All in all, I'd probably get takeout, or dine alone if it rained like cat and dogs, but to stress -- I would not bring a non-adventurous foodie nor a cleanliness-conscious friend/family member here again (I can think of 3-4 people in my circle who'd react in the same way. Please consider other restaurants for your out-of-town guests).

I visited King Noodle in Seattle and it was a great find. The homemade dumplings were incredibly tasty and clearly made with care. I also had the beef brisket noodles in chicken broth with vegetables, which was warm and comforting on a cold day. It is a family owned spot with food that really hits the mark. A wonderful place to stop for a hearty meal.

I went to King Noodle during the Seattle Original Night Market in Chinatown. We stopped by because the display of ramen bowls and dumplings in the window caught our attention. It’s a small hole-in-the-wall spot, and it was fairly busy when we entered.

My partner and I weren’t greeted by a single staff member. We saw an empty table across the room, but instead of welcoming us, the server simply pointed for seat here. Once we sat down, he slid menus across the table with pens. The menu itself wasn’t very clear — descriptions of the items were vague — so it took us a while to figure out what to order. From the start, we already felt unwelcome and judged by both the server and a group of people nearby.

My partner is Black and Japanese, and I’m Indigenous and Hispanic. We’re also queer and visibly queer. From the constant stares, the giggling from a nearby table, and the silent treatment from the server, it was hard not to feel like we were being judged for who we are.

When our food started arriving, I went to the self-serve station for soy sauce, chili, Sriracha, vinegar, and small to-go packets. It was crowded, and I kept having to move out of the server’s way, apologizing and saying “excuse me” multiple times.

The dishes came out one by one, hot and visually appealing, but unfortunately they lacked flavor. The soup broth wasn’t hot enough and was bland, the chicken base was weak, and the dumplings were mediocre. We tried to keep eating, but with each dish, our discomfort grew — the stares, the judgmental atmosphere, and the silence from the server made it unbearable.

When my ramen bowl finally arrived, I tried a couple of bites before reaching for my soda. The bottle fizzed over suddenly, spilling everywhere — on me, the table, and the floor. I felt embarrassed, especially as the girls sitting across from us giggled. I tried to get the server’s attention, but eventually had to stand up to ask for napkins or a mop. I didn’t mind helping clean up since he was busy, but he said nothing and handed me only a small handful of napkins before mopping part of the floor. He only cleaned the area near the other customers, leaving the puddle under our table. My partner even had to lift their chair out of the mess. To make matters worse, I’m pretty sure the server didn’t wash his hands after using the mop.

By this point, my partner and I just wanted to leave. Between the constant stares, giggles, silence, rushed service, bland food, and now sitting in a puddle, we were completely drained. My partner asked for boxes to pack up the food, and although we were given containers, we had to ask again later for a bag. We paid and left, feeling awful.

Once we got home, our stomachs started hurting. I checked the pork dumplings we had eaten and discovered they were completely pink and raw inside. That was the final straw.

This experience was traumatizing — we wanted to cry. Now we’re dealing with possible food poisoning on top of everything else, and we both have work tomorrow. We’ll be asking for a refund, because nothing about this experience was worth our hard-earned money. Raw, undercooked dumplings, watery broth, and the lowest level of customer service — I will never come back.

Got my order wrong but it was good so I really don’t care. I’m not picky and clearly they knew my taste better than I did. Will be returning soon.

So good! I ate here 3 days in a row on my recent visit to Seattle. Tried a different combination every time and loved each one. It is definitely going to be my regular spot every time I’m in Seattle!

Would give this place a 3/5 stars mediocre ramen with really questionable service. I walked in and the cook stared at me funny which is nice and welcoming for somewhere i’d be spending my money at. I ordered hot tea and received iced tea while specifically circling the hot option on the menu system. But hey at least their potstickers are thick and stuffed with meat so that’s a plus. Would not recommend it tho.
