I had one roll; it was pretty good but not exceptional. I did however have the katsudon, and it was absolutely amazing. It's hard to find a good donburi and I strongly recommend this place for theirs.

I have been going here for over 16 years, because only 2 miles from house and I enjoyed their fish. However, when they serve me frozen Hamachi Sashimi and do nothing about it when I tell them????......I will never eat here again and take my 16 years of hunger and taste.... to places like Umi!!!

Rice inconsistent. Too soft on the rolls. Fine on the chirashi. Fish was ok.

I ordered a few things including 2 pieces of salmon belly nigiri. Everything was good and tasty until I got to eating the salmon belly nigiri. As I was chewing I found a piece of bone. Thankfully I have caught it before swallowing!!

The sushi rolls are super fresh. I loved the spicy tuna rolls, and the rice was cooked perfect!

Kid-friendliness: Yes, kids are welcome, and they have booster seats and high chairs.

Sushi is too expensive, so I have had to cut way back since I retired. But, once in a while I like to splurge. I fired up Google Maps and asked where I could get sushi near me. The list came up and I tried to balance good reviews with driving distance. The result of my "research" was Kiriba Sushi and Grill on 145th. I've driven past many times, thinking, "How can a place that looks like that be worth it?" At 4.5 stars on Google, I decided to give it a try.
There is a small parking area next to the little building that could be mistaken for a house. Several signs on the building assured me that I was in the right place. There was also street parking, but I was able to get the last spot in the parking area.
Inside there was a standard sushi bar and a few tables. There was not much for decoration and the paint was looking old. There were a few customers, but not enough to explain the full parking lot. A jolly Japanese/American invited me to take a seat wherever I liked. There were menus on the table, so by the time the host came over I had picked out what I wanted. Tea, miso soup and a variety platter of sushi. Turns out the tea and miso were included with the sushi. Cool.
The tea showed up right away, quickly followed by the miso soup. The soup was pretty basic. I added a touch of soy sauce for a bit of flavor that made it OK. The sushi platter came out and lifted my spirits. There was salmon, tuna, mackerel, a couple that I could not identify and the great prize - white albacore. I saved that delightful tidbit for last. The sushi was well made and presented. I enjoy food that looks good and this platter pleased me. I popped the salmon in my mouth and I was even more pleased. The fish was fresh and flavorful.
I have been known to put away a lot of sushi. There was an all-you-can-eat place downtown that I think I personally put out of business by filling myself with the good stuff. While it was not those kinds of quantities, the platter was actually plenty of food. I gobbled it up and braced myself for the check. To my surprise, the whole meal was around $18. Fantastic! Stop by sometime and say hi, I'll be at the table by the front window as often as I can.

Mediocre food for a high price. Sometimes it doesn’t taste fresh.

A great little place for amazing sushi! I always try and get lunch here at least weekly. If you're a huge sushi fan like I am, then you've got to try this place. It's perfect for lunch by yourself or a date night. It's pretty quiet and the staff is amazing. I got the poke roll shown in picture. Next time I will send another picture and a review about another roll. But I highly recommend this place. Very good eat!!!

An affordable sushi place in Seattle? With top notch Sushi and solid non-sushi selections? In a very charming environment?

Absolutely recommend them and easily one of my go-tos, especially right off the 333 line from the shoreline south station.

My coworkers and I have come to this location on several occasions, twice we have been mistreated . From being accused of being angry to not being able to pay separately, lying stating they are busy when there is only 4 other people in the establishment ...... They are rude cand rules are inconsistent .... We have always been polite and generous with our tips ..... The fact that the world rather lose money than accomodated their customers is assisine to me .... I will NEVER COME BACK AGAIN !!!
