Always delicious food and great service. Ended up there for happy hour which we got to enjoy at our regular table. Loved it.
It's my favorite italian place in seattle. Great service, great location if you're on capitol hill, the tiramisu is probably the best on the west coast. The tagliatelle is fantastic.
Went here with my wife on a Friday night. The space is beautiful. We ordered an assortment of breads which were dry and could have used olive oil, butter or something. We ordered 2 pasta dishes which tasted good, but were underwhelming and lacked presentation. We sampled a glass of wine then ordered a bottle which turned out to be corked. Instead of giving us a new bottle our server brought us a more expensive bottle and told us the bartender disagreed about the bottle being corked. Not a big deal. The new bottle was delicious, but why wasn't it on the wine list? Our server was nice, but after ordering the next course (near 8:15) her and a busser began wiping down tables and putting up chairs directly where we were sitting. After that our server was gone without letting us know and someone else, who also didn't communicate with us, took over. We ate our meal with anxiety because of the drastic change in vibe. Our new person asked if we wanted to see a dessert menu. We did which our new person looked bummed out over. We ordered the tiramisu which was really great, but stressful as we felt we were overstaying our welcome. We checked the hours before changing our reservation to 7:30. We left at 9pm. On our way out we checked with the bartender to confirm that they were open until 9:30. He said they usually close around 9:30ish. Overall, we paid a lot of money to have a terrible experience. With so many options for dining I do not recommend.
The food was definitely disappointing. At best, nothing special. Our server was young and a bit unpolished. He didn't enunciate well, spoke too quietly and quickly, and interrupted conversation a bit awkwardly, but fine. It was a slow night, so it was quiet. I like the space, but obviously not enough to pay for mediocre food.
I've been to Osteria La Spiga quite a few times—and for good reason. This place gets it right, consistently. The food is soulful, elegant, and deeply Italian without trying to impress you—it just does. Handmade pastas are the anchor: rich, balanced, and clearly made with care. The seasonal menu always delivers, and the flavors feel both comforting and special, like a meal you want to linger over. The service is thoughtful and unpretentious. You're welcomed, not rushed, and guided just enough if you want help navigating the menu or wine list. Speaking of wine: the selection is excellent and pairs beautifully with the food. Whether it's a quiet dinner, a celebratory meal, or a night you want to savor, Osteria La Spiga has earned its place as a go-to. It's one of those restaurants you keep returning to—not out of habit, but because it delivers every time.
We had a great time at La Spiga. The food was delicious. The drinks were perfect. And the staff was SO nice!
First time at Osteria and can't wait to go back. The food, service, atmosphere, and overall experience were exceptional!! We didn't know about their Happy Hour, but we were there at the right time (5-6) and experienced exceptional entrees and wine, at a great HH price. (65$ for two pasta entrees and a bottle of house wine) I have several food allergies and had communicated those prior to my visit (with two friends) and a staff member communicated with me in a very timely and accommodating manner. One glitch the allergy friendly gnocchi had to be coordinated ahead of time so I didn't get to order that but my GF Tagliatelle pasta with traditional ragu Bolognese sauce was EXTRAORDINARY!!! I can't wait to go back and order the gnocchi with the ragu. Our server was also EXTRAORDINARY, so helpful, fun, knowledgeable regarding the menu and checking every detail for food allergy accommodations. The friendly bar tender bid us farewell and that just put the cherry on top! THANK YOU!!!!
We come here every year for my son's birthday and this year was very underwhelming. The service was very slow. The Sausage and Mushroom dish was really odd. Tasted like a deconstructed hamburger. The tagliatelle and duck was under seasoned. The Lasagna and Gnocchi was great as always. Thanks, Ryan
La Spiga used to be a great restaurant. This was a disappointing dinner night out. The prices are high and portions are small and uninspired. $19 for a 5 oz pour of wine? $28 for 1/4 chicken with a few potatoes and no vegetable on the plate? Chicken was fine but the skin was loose, not crispy. Salad was rather over dressed. Had to seek out the waiter. Just a sad moment in time for a once terrific restaurant.
Fabulous truffle pasta dish - lasagna as well. Great service great food lovely environment- highly recommend!

The food was passable with most complaints surrounding seasoning choices (or lack thereof). My choice was sausage and mushroom. This is what I got. A piece of pork sausage under seasoned and cut in half with quite literally a pool of melted mozzarella(?) cheese that you would find as a pizza topping or what a kid would do to cheese in the microwave. There were a few mushrooms that were tasty but not many of them thrown on top. No sauce of any kind. The dish was accompanied by what was essentially fried crispy polenta stuffed with more melty cheese which somehow had absorbed enough grease (butter maybe?) as to be literally dripping from the bottom. My dining partner ordered pasta and was treated to a small amount mounded in the center of a plate. Not sure how but it was ragged. The pasta was bland and the sauce so sparse that I believe they dipped a basting brush in sauce and painted it individually on the tops of the pasta. The meat in the sauce was basically non-exist any with tiny bits dotting the pasta here and there. The ambience as delightful and the wait staff were phenomenal, but the star of the show was definitely not the food or the value. Huge disappointment.
Went on Wednesday of Seattle restaurant week to avoid crowds. Chose the $50 option. Service took long despite us being one of only 6 occupied tables. Server was talking with the bartender most of the time. Appetizer was lunch meat advertised as “cured meats”, cold roasted eggplant/peppers, and a whole chunk of Parmesan cheese. Our 2 entres took over 30 minutes to arrive despite us ordering lasagna which we could tell was made in bulk. Ordered some drinks and the total came out to $350 with tip. Left feeling price gouged and unsatisfied.
We had a quick dinner before a show and everything was fabulous. Really nice to know that the quality and restaurant experience remains outstanding after many years in business.
This is why Restaurant Week is so good: it re-introduces us to old friends! What a treat, and delightful, delicious evening!
This is a stunning place to get a meal to cook at home, to take to the beach for a picnic, or even cater a big family reunion which we did!!. I absolutely love all the food. I have tried a lot of it at La Spiga, but there is stuff that you can get here that you can’t get at La Spiga. Everything comes in a perfect size and all the accompaniments you could think of are here. I have catered full on parties with items I’ve gotten from here and the reviews are always rave. People always ask me where they can get the food, and I tell them La Dispensa!
