Cute little bar with food. I had some local cab and it was delicious. The bartenders are friendly and work quick.

Both the food and the drinks were AMAZING. Drag brunch was so much fun, performers and atmosphere was great. The bartender Steph was so sweet.

I visited La Dive in Capitol Hill on two occasions, and unfortunately both experiences felt similarly hostile. As a Black person, I was particularly hurt by the service.
On my most recent visit, the bartender – a light-skinned Black woman with colored, curly hair wearing a tie-dye shirt – was openly unwelcoming from the start. When anyone in my group asked a question, she yelled, “Look at the menu,” rather than addressing our questions. The same dismissive attitude was directed toward other parties too.
What stood out was how much her service seemed influenced by appearances—how patrons “looked” or if they seemed to fit in—rather than on treating every customer with basic respect. That experience felt exclusionary and hurtful, and sadly, I’m not alone—other reviews describe similar behavior.
Everyone deserves to be treated with respect, regardless of background or appearance. I hope La Dive reviews their service standards so that all patrons feel welcome.

Welcome to my ultimate chill spot on the hill! 🍷✨ It's my favorite place for solo adventures at the bar, but it gets even better when I bring friends to soak up the good vibes. Imagine sipping wine or downing a chambong, surrounded by cool murals and awesome art, all while munching on tasty snacks. Plus, the staff here are like warm rays of sunshine—so welcoming!

Service was great but the espresso martini was sooooooo strong! The vibes were ok, maybe I’m not the biggest fan of the layout of the place.

Normally love the vibe here and the bartender last night was a dope: friendly, chatty, and didn’t skimp on the pours.
But damn, the busser with the long dark hair needs a serious lesson in spatial awareness and customer service. After aggressively spraying down a table next to ours (that we had joined), he managed to mist all of us like we were part of the cleanup crew. When I made a comment, he hit back with something like, “Did your mom let you eat at dirty tables?”
Sir, this isn’t a hygiene debate. It’s common courtesy not to power wash people mid-drink. Maybe try spraying the towel next time?

The purposefully overcharged me for a cocktail. ( I pointed out that the bar overcharged me to my friend, who went and ordered the same $10 drink, and the bartender tried to charge her $16. also, slow on a friday night).

I didn't like this place. My partner and I both didn't think our drinks were good. We got a quesadilla which actually was pretty good, but considering the prices, the taste of the drinks, and just the general atmosphere here, I wont be coming back.
