Lantern Brewing is a neighborhood brewery with a chill vibe and a fantastic selection of beers. It is kid-friendly and tends to clear out around 7 pm, making it a welcoming place for families. The brewery embraces local ingredients in their beers, which adds to its community-focused atmosphere. While they may not always have IPA, their selection includes enjoyable pales, sours, and gose, along with a strong Belgian influence. Customers appreciate the range of bottled beers to go and the tasty non-alcoholic options available.
The taproom is simple, featuring tables on concrete, but it is welcoming and unpretentious. The atmosphere changes from a lively family scene in the early evening to a more relaxed crowd of local regulars later on. Summer visits are especially pleasant, as one wall has a roll-up door that creates a nice breeze and shade. Outside food is welcome, and the rotating food trucks provide a variety of options. The BBQ from Smokestack Lightning BBQ is highly recommended, and there are decent restaurants, like an Indian Nepali place, within walking distance.
Parking can be challenging, but arriving early helps. The stout is a must-try, and the brewery is known for its friendly staff and great service, despite occasional lapses. Lantern Brewing is truly a great spot for fresh beer and good times, with a strong sense of community and a commitment to quality.
