The pastries were a bit overdone and tough, but overall acceptable. Solid basic breakfast sandwich. A pleasant place. Wouldn't go out of my way, but will stop by again if I find myself in Fremont. 3.5 stars.
Although they look great from the window, the croissants are dense, crunchy on the outside, and barely cooked on the inside. Truly disappointing and a bit confusing because their danish pastry was perfectly fine.
Their bathroom was also disgusting and looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in weeks.
I was trepidatious about the new owners because I loved the former Lazy Cow so much. I had nothing to worry about! They have a larger menu (though RIP the previous sandwiches), more pastries that are just as delicious as before, more hours, better seating, and are better stocked. I do miss contributing to the community fund, activist space, and the free pantry, but hopefully those things come back. Overall, Lazy Cow is great and the owners are so kind.
