Great ambiance. Service was meh. Servers and vibe felt pretentious. If you are looking for knowledgeable folks who can recommend wines go somewhere else. Cheese was off the chart good. Wines overpriced but tasty.

Been coming here for … 10 years now (or however long they have been open). From day 1 to now nothing changed: wine always great (don’t worry if you know not what to pick, staff will help), food delicious and seasonal, staff is great, kind, knowledgeable and hasn’t changed since opening (David must be doing something right to keep them all around). Oh, and the best tartare in Seattle!!! ?

I had a lovely date at Le Caviste. The owners were exceptionally nice and helpful in recommending food and drinks. We enjoyed the steak tartar and the roasted mushrooms were especially delicious. I don't know very much about wine, but the suggested wines paired well with our dishes. We had a great time!

This place is a gem! Fabulous wine and outstanding French culinary delicacies in downtown Seattle. By total chance we walked past this place and saw some cartons of French wine in the window. We came back to try it out and were totally not disappointed. The host David and his wonderful staff were brilliant. Between us we tried 8 wines from all over France by the very generous glass. ALL were absolutely delicious. David’s skill in choosing all these wonderful wines and importing them is outstanding. And the food offerings were extraordinary. Duck prosciutto was unbelievable and the goat cheese sublime. All very reasonably priced. We are from Australia on holiday in Seattle and this was our best experience in the city.

Menu is intimidating if you’re not super knowledgeable about wine and cheese, and our server Harrison made us feel very comfortable and offered great recommendations. He said it was his first night and we could not tell at all- seemed like he’d been there for years. Good service, good food and wine.

Absolutely stunning little spot along 7th. The quality and selection of wine are exceptional, and the staff are truly well-versed in their craft. Not to mention the food - there is not a large menu, but every piece has been properly thought out to accompany the excellent wine selection.
I would recommend this for a glass or bottle of wine for 1-2 people. Additionally, I might suggest light fare, as it isn't quite a full dinner experience (not a bad thing). It's a bit small and, while you could do a group of 3-4 with the right timing, 1-2 is the sweet spot. This makes it a lovely date environment.
Glasses range from $8-16, average of $12, and bottles vary. Highly recommend.

This is one of those spots that I hate to share with anyone else because it’s so special, but the secret is and has been clearly out for some time. The wine, food and service is impeccable. Put it on your short list. You won’t be disappointed.

Go here for maybe the okay-ish ambience. Probably not for the wine. These “french” wines they serve and allegedly get from France are mediocre at best. I tried giving this place the benefit of the doubt 4 times just to try all of their wines. And each time I have been disappointed. Only if their wine collection actually improves, this place can be something better. I also question the service they provide. Talked a bit with the owner of this place last time I was here. Not the most pleasant person to speak with.

Atmosphere and staff were beyond expectations. It was like we arrived late to an after-soirée, sauntered in, and an old friend came to greet us, help us select our wine, and make delicious recommendations.
The cheese platter, while scrumptious, didn’t leave me with my jaw on the floor, but that came in handy because I needed it for the ample conversation at pleasure pace this space inspires.

As a french person this is my favorite french style restaurant in the city. Free refills of bread (and its good) + BIG charcuterie boards and great wine, all at a great price. Have brought tons of friends here and everyone always has rave reviews!

I stumbled upon Le Caviste during a recent visit to Seattle, and I’m so glad that I did. As soon as I walked in and saw the wine list I was reminded of Le Baron Rouge in Paris. Many years ago I lived nearby that wonderful establishment in the 11th, and this visit transported me back to that special time in my life with each sip of the Beaujolais crus. I would fly back to Seattle just to visit this wine bar. The bites, the sips, the atmosphere, and the service are truly special. Bravo et merci mille fois!
