My favorite restaurant in Seattle! Hot Bop for life :)

A place where I confidently bring my foreign friends to eat delicious food and enjoy it too. The atmosphere is also good. But the menu name is in Japanese (Bento), which is a bit sad.

Great asian food, as tasty as food in Korea and with a Japanese twist. We got the Spicy Chicken Bibimbap, the Bento platter with Spicy Tofu, Beef Bulgogi Kimbap, and americano and a tea. It is on the pricier side, we paid around $90 after tip. All were delicious, we especially liked the Bibimbap and the miso soup that came with the Bento. Service was excellent, the staff seemed to take genuine delight in serving high quality, tasty food. The atmosphere was warm and inviting and bathrooms are clean.

only tried their bento - but it was tasty! i wouldn't try to compare this place to traditional korean restaurants.. its more of a cute brunch place. service was so good...better than most sit down restaurants here in seattle :O

4.5/5this is a very ~seattle~ restaurant (cute aesthetics, fusion, simple healthy menu, nice plating). it's by no means "authentic," rather, it's a perfect place to grab lunch with friends or on a date when you want to try korean with a creative twist. we came in on a sunny spring sunday at around noon and were lucky to nab a seat. we ordered a bulgogi bibimbop in a stone pot and the banchan set. the banchan set is basically a taste of everything: eggplant, miso soup, silken tofu, rice, kale tempura, a protein of choice, etc. there are definitely japanese influences, which was really cool!service was super friendly & accommodating. i wish there was more space but then again, it is seattle. we finished everything and it was delicious.only cons: miso soup was a little too salty for my liking, and i wish there were some protein options that were not so flavorful on the marinade.also it is kinda pricey -- $28 pp, for lunch!

Great place, this type of food is a new cuisine for me and was I blown away. There is a wait around lunch but it moves pretty quickly (line was out the door when I arrive). I got the passion fruit spritzer to balance the spicy bowl I got. Very good, made my nose run but perfect level of spicy. Fresh greens helped balance the meal.

Super expensive for average food. We got a bibimbop and the bibimbop with japchae and ended being 50$! The plates were small tooThe food was also extra salty and had no flavor. Very disappointed. Would rather go to u district for Korean food instead

Pros: very friendly service, food was good and varied. Tahini sauce is super tasty, highly recommended.Cons: small portions: I left hungry after a $70 bill for 2, and we're both not big people at all. Even the cheapest part of the meal, the rice, is skimped on. They don't give you a big bottle of jochujang sauce like every other Korean spot. They are stingy with the sauces, $1 for a tiny little ramekin that's like 2 tablespoons. No complimentary sides as usual Korean spots give you (fish caked, kimchi, etc.)I really wanted to like this place especially because a friend recommended it, but I don't see how it's better in any way than the more traditional Korean spots.I recommend going to Kimchi House nearby instead. Food was cheaper, more flavorful, and I left 100% satisfied. My recommendation to the owners: please be more generous with the rice and sauce! People shouldn't be leaving hungry!

AMAZING korean rice bowls! Was impressed and curious by the extremely high ratings. It met my expectations, the bibimbap had a great balance between veggies and meat that goes really well together. I got the HotBop with bulgogi ribeye.

Love the food and vibe. We’ve been going back every month. While the menu is pretty much the same, daily bento and some season specials always keep it interesting. Expect a wait for tables but it’s not that bad. Grab a buzzer and take a lap around Fremont.
