Fantastic rice and beans, killer salsa, and incredible fish tacos. They’ve got other great options like their burritos, quesadillas, and rolled tacos as well. Such a great spot!

This is one of my favorite places to eat in Seattle. The staff are great and the food is delicious. I recommend ordering ahead at lunch time. It gets BUSY. I miss the Ballard location! 😭

Malena's is my favorite taco in Seattle. The burritos are HUGE and the tacos (hard shell) are delicious. Guacamole is legit and i could eat their salsas with everything. Cannot go wrong with anything on the menu. Rolled tacos as good as Olvera street in LA. Burritos put chain stores to shame. Such good food and freshly prepared to order.

Burritos are not wrapped well at all. Started to completely fall apart after a few bites. A simple solution would but to wrap the burrito with the tinfoil instead of placing it on a plate and then wrapping the plate in tinfoil. Food was alright. There is no dining in the restaurant

It’s honestly just ok. The burritos are big, but aren’t wrapped that well. Hard to eat em without spilling everywhere. There’s definitely better taco trucks around but nothing better on Queen Anne.

People who say Seattle has no good Mexican food clearly haven't eaten at Malena's.
I was excited to try food from a small local business, especially with such high reviews, but I was really disappointed by the food here. I tried a wide range of their menu: tacos, burritos, tamales, with various proteins too: beef, pork, and chicken. Servings were big, but everything else fell flat.
The food was flavorless and poorly cooked. The meats were tough and chewy, and the tamale was so dry I wouldn't be surprised if it had been days old. It wasn't clear on the menu what would come in any of the dishes, so I was surprised to find that my burrito only had chicken, onions, and bell pepper in it. The salsa was fine but had no spice and it likely wasn't house made.
Unfortunately, I wouldn't recommend this restaurant. If you want authentic Mexican food, or even a good meal, I'd look elsewhere.
