Exquisite meal, top to bottom. Every dish let the product shine and subtle details delivered a truly excellent meal. Wait staff were kind, casual and attentive. Sommelier was passionate, friendly, and deeply knowledgeable. Enjoyed the lively, west coast vibe. Won't hesitate to eat here again and again.
This place never ceases to uplift the spirits, the moment you take your seats. We ordered whole branzino fish, the classic king salmon, scallops, oysters, and a panna cotta desert. Everything was top notch.
Great service and beautiful view as usual. Both of our dishes could have benefited from more sauce as well as better distribution of the sauce that was on each sandwich. The meal was expensive so we were disappointed that everything was not perfect.
As usual the atmosphere was great. We very much appreciated the great service we received from everyone, especially our server, Sequoia.
Drinks were awesome. I ordered the Seattle Slew. I don't mind the price but the quality of the food; catfish on a saggy sandwich burnt filet. The soup chowder with small shrimp and hardly no clams. Just full of potatoes . Both are overpriced. Disappointed. I probably just go for the drinks here not the food. The restaurant made their online menu classy or elegant but the food was horrible. Kitchen counter is like a deli from subway sandwich . I never experienced something like this. My day in Seattle was ruined with this experience. Just terrible.
Always hope to stop by when I'm in Seattle. Live the food and the vibe. Pricey, but usually worth it
This place is too expensive and the portions are small. The food was good but not for the price. I've been to many fine dining restaurants and the prices here top them all. I will not be returning.
The atmosphere was nice, but there was a substantial lack of service. The waiter ignored us most of the night, stating that he had a “big party” of 5 that was taking g his attention away. The food was of the lowest quality. The oysters was literally mush. They had the consistency of spoiled pudding. This was a shock to us since we eat oyster at least three times per month. We had just come from another Oyster Bar where we sampled 7 varieties that were amazing. The Halibut was average at best, but with gourmet prices. We have eaten at some of the most prestige restaurants in New York City and this wouldn't compare to the worst restaurants we're explored. The lack of side dishes, poor quality food, absent service, and incompetent staff ensured that we wound never return. The view of the sunset was pretty, and the atmosphere could have been suitable. But the skyline doesn't change so we can get better service and better quality food at a fast food shack. I would never recommend any of my friends or family to go to Matt's! They would have better flavors licking a toilet and better service at a homeless shelter!
i'm an experienced traveler in my 70s. Suffice it to say Matt's was the best fine dining experience of my life. without the stuffy, snooty foolishness that is often associated with fine dining. make teservations and RUN don't walk to Matt's in the Market.
Would loved to have been able to sit with my date rather than across from her. Not a complaint but a simple comment. Loved everything about Matt's. Thank you for a wonderful night

Great food, the meal we had we could share between the two of us. The staff was extremely friendly, kind and fun. I highly recommend.
Food was delicious. Restaurant was completely understaffed. There was no one at the bar, waiters were making their own drinks. Service was soooo slow and we had to get up to the service station and get our own water because of it. Multiple tables sat around waiting for their checks. Don't blame the servers, just completely understaffed. One employee said it is ALWAYS like this when we made a comment about the understaffing.
This is a go-to spot for me and a nice oasis from the throngs of people downstairs at the Market. Had the fish sandwich and a cup of seafood chowdah yesterday: Both great, both delicious. They know how to prepare seafood at this joint! Best part was the friendly and attentive bartender (forget his name, but a mustached hipster from Dallas...) who knew everything about the menu and provided great guidance and service. Great meal and I'll be back many more times.
My group had a wonderful time at Matt's as usual, we love this place. However, my one complaint is that the spicy chicken sandwich barely had any chicken in it. I've ordered it before many times, and it was not the same. There were literally 2 bites of chicken in a giant bun.
Great location with a view of the market , harbour, cruise ships. Server was very pleasant, and food arrived fairly quickly. The burger was good, sandwich was very tasty. Only miss were the fried oysters, which I usually love. These were not great.
