I ate BBQ pork bread ($6)
It's delicious. I thought it was bulgogi, but it was seasoned with red haha.
If you are Korean, you also take Lee Kum Kee spicy sauce.
The sour + spicy flavors go well together.
If you don't have a place to eat, I recommend eating at pier62.

It wasn't that delicious. We came here based on reviews and ordered 4 dishes: chu mai, bbq pork pie, crab, something I can't remember, and a roast pork bun. I have to say that none of them impressed me. All the fillings were very sweet. The roast pork filling was very sweet, and the crab filling was very sweet. The only dumpling that wasn't sweet was not that delicious. I recommend that if you come here, try other restaurants instead of waiting in line to eat at this one.

But if you like sweet things, you can try this.

The absolute best humbow! Hands down my favorite as they are the only place I found that bakes it... I'm not a fan of steamed dough. Our last trip up north only brought us to Renton. However, we made a special trip to Seattle only to get a dozen of these for the trip home. So delicious 😋!

“Food full of Chinese flavor!”

When you walk along Pike Place Market, it's easy to spot long lines stretching down the street. It’s <Restaurant Line>
It's very easy to find a good restaurant in Seattle's Pike Place just by following these lines.

This was a store I had no prior information about, but when I saw the long line on the way to the first Starbucks store, I was fascinated and joined the line.
It's a take-out only place, but in the kitchen in the back, you can see Chinese people working with the whole family constantly making dim sum.

The name of the store is Pastry, but the main menu here is dim sum, with Shomai, fried dumplings, pork buns, and chicken buns being the mainstay, as well as Chinese steamed buns, snacks, sesame balls, and pastries.

To save some of my stomach, which had already eaten two soups from breakfast, I simply ordered 2 shomai and 2 fried dumplings (pork buns seem to be the mainstay, so I really wanted to eat them, but I couldn't bear the thought of making them the size of my fist).

I had a large shomai and delicious fried dumplings in my hands. The texture and flavor were so Chinese haha.
I've eaten a lot of dim sum in San Francisco and LA, but the Chinese flavor of this restaurant's dim sum was by far the best. Rather, isn't the mysterious scent that gives off a more Chinese feel than other places that have adjusted the scent appropriately through American localization the driving force that made this restaurant a favorite?
The juiciness and texture of the dumpling filling were good, as was the chewy feel of the dumpling skin.

The only thing that is disappointing is that the dumplings are a bit large, so it is not easy to carry them around and eat them. And the strong Chinese scent can make you feel like or dislike it.

If you get hungry while exploring Pike Place and are craving some oriental food, this might be a good place.

Walk up Chinese pastries, authentic menu, taste, and feel. Probably as good as you're going to get for street food in Seattle. Good for a quick hot snack to go.

Mee Sum is a Pike Place institution. As a Chinese person i can appreciate there's a certain amount of westernization in what Mee Sum serves. This should NOT be your destination if your goal is premium authentic Chinese food.

What you will find at Mee Sum is a lot of nostalgia, set by its beautiful waterfront location, in a 1960s style of chinese pastry counter. Over the years Mee Sum has up their game a lot and added many more items beyond the enormous hum baos. They now have bbq pork skewers, sticky rice jongji, and super sized baked pastries. It is a convenient spot to grab these fun bites to eat on the go.

The egg tarts were a little stale. The sesame balls are pretty good, little light on the filing. Bbq pork pastries were the best, stuffed full of well flavored bbq pork and they are 3x the size of the ones you get at dim sum restaurants.

Smells amazing when walking down the street. The Hombow's are so-so at best. What really had me wanting to go back were the pork and shrimp siu mai, those are a must grab while there.

This is the place to come back to over and over again for Chinese pastries and dim sum to go. The lines can get long, but you stay patient and it moves fairly quickly and it's worth it! BBQ pork bun, chicken bun, curry beef bun, curry beef crispy turnover, barbecue pork crispy with flaky crust (cha siu so, my favorite) savory and delicious, so mouth-watering! Lots of meat filling! No place to sit, just get it to go. Very popular place and for a good reason

Highly recommend the Baked BBQ Pork hombow. It's best enjoyed while still warm. The bun is tender, and the combination with the BBQ pork is delicious. Expected a long line, but it moved quickly.

One of my favorites at Pike Place! I got the Pork Hom Bao, shrimp shumai, chicken shrimp dumpling, and beef curry puff. Every time I come I want to try new things. The service is quick and the food is fresh. The pork hom bao was amazing, great as your first bite of food at pike place! The curry puffs are so well made and satisfying to eat. I'll make sure to visit again next time I'm at the market.
