I love skewers but haven’t been able to find any quick spots in Seattle, so was excited to have stumbled onto this place!

The chicken cutlet was crispy and delicious, although the chicken skin wasn’t very crunchy at all. Definitely not the best skewers I’ve had, but it was solid and nice for a quick meal. I’ll be returning to try other skewers! Service was friendly, although it was pretty busy so took longer than we expected for our two skewers.

This is NOT Mei Mei Cafe anymore. The old restaurant, cooks, menu, and owners are gone, so any review on here from before October of 2025 is for a restaurant that no longer exists. What I had from the new restaurant was okay, but nothing like Mei Mei Cafe. You should change the name, it's misleading to pretend it's the same restaurant.

Amazing! This is the best upgrade to the old mom and pop shop in the U District.

We ordered online. They couldn't tell us over the phone what items had dairy. The skewers were ordered were horrible. They all had a seasoning powder on them that made them taste like spicy dust. The scallion pancakes had no flavor OR scallions. The beef in the beef and broccoli was tough and chewy. Spent over $80 on dinner for 3 and had to toss most of it. Disappointing and won't be back.

I'm disappointed, this place had good reviews. The skewers had a powdered flavoring that made them taste dusty. The beef in the beef and broccoli was not tender at all. The scallion pancakes were actually the worst I've ever had, no scallions and no salt. The sweet and sour chicken was fine, and the orange chicken was fine. The batter on the orange chicken tasted almost like funnel cake batter which was just kind of weird. Also two of the dishes leaked all over the bags and were an absolute mess to serve. My family said they would have preferred to go to Panda Express.
