This place has forgotten to pay me four or five times. What good is work íf you can't in good faith get paid? It's such a hassle to correct it. Go here if money isn't that important to you. Otherwise be prepared to be down their throat for basic pay.

We all noticed your new lights, but.. Why can we hear electricity humming?FUN FACT: Wiring and outlets can hum for a variety of reasons, many of which signify DANGER. If an outlet is not GROUNDED PROPERLY or if wiring is TRANSFERRING VOLTAGE ABOVE THE LEVEL FOR WHICH IT'S RATED, they may make a humming noise and could eventually SPARK A FIRE. Please get a professional to assist, the buzzing noise is really really loud and I am afraid you are going to catch the entire block on fire??

They seemed really organized, except for the fact they didn't update 211 with the fact they've changed how hot meals work. Thanks for the info, losers.

Love this place. Great resources, free food and I also got a free ORCA card there and free cell phone. Free cell service the lady is there Mondays & Thursdays if you need it. Help with temp work, classes, pay for certifications and housing help. Cat pictures. Etc. ?

A good place for a free meal and work resources and opportunities. Would have given more stars, but the clientele can be shady

The blueprint of what education plus empathy and genuine good will for all mankind looks like. From the man that greets you at the door all the way upstairs to the head staff member everyone wants you to succeed. I do mean EVERYONE.

""Starting wages begin at $20.00 with opportunities for additional training and higher wages."This is what is posted on their website but is inaccurate. I brought this to their attention and a receptionist said "It's because of the contract we have with them."Sometimes they pay $18.69 minimum wage which is perfectly acceptable. But the company should value their integrity and uphold their own words they posted online. It should state: "Average starting wage is $20"I wrote this a long time later, they still didn't change their posted starting wage. Also, sometimes I don't get a yes or no answer. ever, and have to go into the facility for a response.I was told they have more people wanting jobs than jobs they have.Overall, I think the people who originally established this company had a great view. They provide us with the opportunity to build ourselves up with our own working abilities God gave us.They also provide free classes for low income people to have more job opportunities.

Expects their workers to be willing to expose them selves to second hand fentanyl exposure, drunk co workers, dangerous drivers, lying dispatchers, and poor overall leadership structure. They will pay you though.

Last couple of months services have been terrible, came in @1 pm for lunch was told they were not serving until another guy stepped in and looked at the clock said yes we are. Juneteenth no warning no notice no dinner services. Bring back the church people and put it back under the 6th street bridge. Ever since empower started it’s just gone substantially down hill.

I have been associated with Uplift Northwest since 2010. Originally my relationship with the organization was based on knowledge of their services in order to refer clients. I had been the Director of Operations for a well established non profit based in Seattle for almost 10 years. This was when Uplift was known as the Millionaires Club. My staff and interns always held this agency in the highest regard.Reason being we knew, whoever we referred to them would be treated with respect and introduced to options that would better their situations .The staff has transitioned over time but I have never experienced any " mission drift " or misrepresentation whatsoever.I left Seattle in 2019.I returned during Covid and was dealing with divorce, custody battle, mental health and addiction issues. My return back was not.easy. I found myself homeless and on the streets living In tents with the same people I once mentored and served .Depression gripped me so tightly I could not see any positive outcomes to my situation..I had become lost within myself and had no idea how or where to turn .Most agencies were closed due to Covid..I walked into Uplift Northwest after a year or so homeless with my head hung low.I was ashamed and embarrassed. The stigma you carry when you are homeless is tragic and weighs you downThe staff welcomed me without hesitation. They did not " over screen * me .They met me where I was at and assisted me in getting employment , housing , eye glasses and self worth .I have been employed through them and private interests now for over 2 yearsHolding a job and an apartment after 3 years of loss is a struggle in itself. Addiction is its own monster as well.I have comfort when I get laid off or fired due to the fact that Uplift and it's amazing , beautiful staff exist.I am currently employed because for them. I do not receive any welfare or other assistance because of them. When other agencies encourage you to give up and collect. Uplift never has done anything but be on my "team "I am able to continue to empower and motivate others with my actions and results because of Uplift. The staff has proven to me that my belief in people is not wasted. With patience , respect and the willingness to hear others when they are in need , amazing results will occur .Working with the "vulnerable " population is a beautiful thing to do .But when you empower that population to do for themselves and encourage self worth and develop expectations. You will repair the wounds that cause vulnerability and produce strength , courage and pride which is a human right .
