Really solid spot for third wave and a large selection of beans from a variety of roasters. Good pastries too. It was very pricey ($8 for a latte and $7 for drip) but it’s Seattle so you just have to accept that for the most part. Pour over is aero press unless you request the V60

The 70% Mocha (Bitter chocolate) was fantastic! Squash bread was really good too. Lovely ambience, good service.

Light roast was darker than I would’ve liked. ‘Pour over’ was drip through an Aeropress, came out a little cloudy.

Stopped here on our way to see the Troll. Good coffee with great service but the view sold it for me.

Coffee is pretty good (although significantly more expensive than most places). The space is nice with lots of seating. I took 2 stars off because they don't have real cups, only flimsy disposable ones whether you have it there or not which is a) bad for the environment, and b) less enjoyable to drink my $7 latte.

I particularly don't care for the lack of ceramic cups and only having the option of paper or plastic cups. It is an inferior experience to ceramic and takes away from the experience.
Though I do thoroughly appreciate the great selection of quality whole bean coffee, this is not enough to ever go back again. There are too many alternative options in Seattle.

Tucked beneath the Aurora Bridge in Fremont, Milstead & Co. is everything I want in a third-wave coffee shop — thoughtful, restrained, and quietly excellent. The space is minimalist but warm, with Scandinavian tones and just enough bustle to feel alive without overwhelming. The baristas here are serious about their craft but never pretentious. My pour-over (a washed Ethiopian from Heart Roasters) had a citrusy brightness and clarity I rarely find outside Tokyo or Copenhagen. They rotate roasters frequently, which speaks to both taste and confidence. For those who appreciate precision in their coffee and a break from the corporate-feel cafés downtown, this is the spot. A must-visit for coffee purists visiting Seattle.

Some of the best coffee in Seattle, just across the Fremont Bridge.
Brewed with beans sourced from top roasters around the country, the coffee is rich and flavorful. The space is open and welcoming, with plenty of seating. Street parking is available. Definitely worth a visit!
