I had watched the Pioneer Square location's construction during the past few months, and Saturday evening was my first try. I went with a friend, who has spent considerable time in Vietnam. Both of us did the Pho Tofu (only available at Pioneer Square). I did the traditional beef soup, while my friend tried the Vegan variation.Despite the bargain $9 price, the Pho was quite good, and well executed by the friendly staff. The traditional beef soup was reasonably complex and was not overly salty. My friend felt the same regarding the Vegan variant.Bottom Line; we will be back.

Wandered in after a Sounders match, had a top notch banh mi. Doesn't have the same feeling as Saigon Deli, but excellent and effect bread. Will be back to try some of the "modern" menu.

Dry beef and pretty uninteresting pho at relatively high price. Staff was friendly so 2 stars.

I never heard of Mr. Saigon until one was opening right by my work - but there are a couple locations so I was pretty excited to give it a try. It’s more a quick walk-in and walk-out kind of place, but there is some seating available if you wanted to eat there. They offer banh mi, vermicelli bowls, pho, and banh pate chaud (which I’m very excited about because it’s one of my favorite Vietnamese pastries).I decided the get the pork belly banh mi (under the “classic” section) to go. For $5.50, it’s a pretty stuffed sandwich and a good size. Fair for the price. The bread was toasted, so it was a nice crisp and not too hard. I’m also a big fan of pate in banh mi, and the pate was a nice texture. Only doe said I would say is that there weren’t jalapeños in my sandwich, though I believe that is something added depending on their menu order. I did see a side bar where you may be able to add extra toppings if you’d like. My other wish (not a big deal) was that the sandwich was cut in half for me. They are when you dine in, but for take out it was a whole sandwich. That’s just preference, but I would like to be asked that.I also ordered the Vietnamese coffee, which was bold and a good level of sweetness - as it should be.I’ll definitely be going back to try other things on the menu and their banh pate chaud. I’d love for this to be a quick fix for Vietnamese food cravings.
