Great place for good food and good tea. It has a quaint feeling and very personal feeling but this is great for both takeout and dine in

Good no frills local sushi joint. It’s nice quality and cheap no-fuss sushi. Can get busy during lunch hours since it’s across from a high school.

Makes me want to move closer to make this my local spot. Amazing sushi at reasonable prices - wish I could eat more in one sitting. The nigiri were more generous than I was expecting. The atmosphere is pretty barebones and you order at the front but overall it comes across as charming and you’re really there for the incredible fish. 100% will go back and would recommend.

Super fresh hamachi made our night! Add in some fresh grilled veggies, chicken teriyaki skewers and salmon avocado roll for an easy, wonderful dinner for the family!

Biggest reason for the 3 stars is the unhygienic environment. I stepped on a cluster of sushi rice once I sat down… And when I looked around the floor was frankly quite dirty with food scraps. We had the chirashi bowls and the tuna felt icy. Overall we still think the chirashi bowl was a good deal for the price, but the cleanliness of the place was concerning, especially for a restaurant that serves raw fish.

Got Musashi’s for takeout. Really decent portions for the price, and very, very generous with the sushi rice. At some point my tongue became numb to the flavors, it was just an onslaught of fish and rice, but getting a chirashi here is less about a fine dining gastronomical experience and more about a sizable chunk of decent quality fish at a reasonable price.

It's been 12 years since I last visited Musashi's. Back then, it was genuinely a joy to enjoy a wholesome bowl of chirashi for a mere $15. The best value sashimi ever. In 2024, I was surprised to discover that Musashi's was still open! The tiny restaurant, that only accepts cash, survived COVID.And yes, the food is amazing as ever. The same chirashi is now $18, but again, jam packed with value. I was surprised they had only raised it by $3 over a decade. Fresh fish well cut, jam packed with value and flavor. The sukiyaki bowl was also well done with tender and fatty meat cuts. And yes, theses would be one of the fattest California rolls.Again, Musashi's is all about value and serves the local UW community well. The only downside is that because the store is so small with so few tables, your experience is practically destroyed by rambunctious neighboring tables.Oh, and they accept credit card now. Finally! If you haven't yet experienced Musashi's, it's time you do. Avoid the crowd and pick slightly off times.Parking: Good luck finding parking. You'll have to go to parallel streets and see if you can secure a spot. Very very tough.

Better than ever! I used to get takeout here back in the 80s.....today we revisited the old neighborhood, The space seems less crampy, the sushi is still fresh and tasty, and the menu has some new items I'd like to try in the future.

I don’t know how anyone would rate this place above 3 stars.1. After I paid they told me they were out of Saba nigiri. I had ordered 2 and they asked me if I wanted to exchange for something else. I said a spicy tuna roll but they said that I would have to pay extra. It was $0.80 more for the roll than the sushi. Most places would just comp it because it was their mistake. I’ve never been in a restaurant that wouldn’t do that. Not a big deal but just a lack of customer service.2. This food is absolutely disgusting. The eel roll tasted like it had been left out for a day. Eel shouldn’t smell like old fish. It also was mealy.3. The salmon cheese roll was made with canned salmon that had a not so fresh taste and extremely dry texture.4. The maki in general had way too much rice and way too little fish. The rice was also super dense and smashed together and overly wet. Not good.5. The salmon nigiri was slimy and not fresh6. Yellowtail nigiri was a solid 6/10. It was buttery but slightly fishy and the rice was not good. I guess I can see why some people like the nigiri/sashimi here but it just didn’t taste anything extraordinary to me7. Still beside myself. Probably the worst sushi I’ve ever had.
