We were looking for a Thai restaurant that offered more of a sit down setting than a bare bones take out place. We went around 6 pm and were seated promptly. All 4 of us had amazing meals and the prices were reasonable. Our waiter was professional and friendly. Many of the dishes are made with rice noodles, making it perfect for those of us with gluten intolerance. The menu dishes were described in detail and all the dishes we ordered were delicious. Mine was pad pong kari talay, a seafood based dish with mussels. shrimp and the tenderest calamari I've ever had. The sauce was delicious and spiced to my request. Thai iced tea was a perfect accompaniment. There are dozens of Thai restaurants in Seattle- Nua is the place to go!

Absolutely delicious!! Everything we had was excellent and the server/co-owner was lovely and helpful. My favorite was probably the papaya salad, perfectly dressed and beautifully presented. The pad see lew was the best I've had in a while, the chive cakes crispy and satisfying, and the massaman curry was just rich enough. Even the lychee cocktail I had was excellent, just strong and sweet enough. As a capper, the mango sticky rice was *chef's kiss*. Can't wait to come back!

I was absolutely chuffed with Nua Thai when they opened up 2 mins walk from me. It just hits every mark for me. It's unassuming but punches above its weight.
Staff- Very personable and knowledgeable. You can tell that they are enjoying themselves.
Drinks - The cocktail menu is surprisingly impressive. The drinks are creative while nailing the fundamentals. These cocktails are worth the money.
Food - Easily on par or better than any other Thai place in Ballard IMO, but actually coming in a little cheaper. They do all the classics well and have a few unique dishes I hadn't heard of.
Atmosphere - The vibe is cool, but not taking itself too seriously or being over the top.
Late night hours - Need I say more?

I definitely had dish envy here. My meal was not that great however, the people I was with loved their selections. The steak and rice dish I had was pricey, plain, and not that great. I should have skipped the dipping sauce 🤢 Probably a 2 star plate. I needed some chili sauce for flavor but by the time I could get servers attention my steak was already cold. So I would go back but I would order something else. Service was a bit slow during lunch hour, but they only had one server.

Visited for the first time and had a great experience! Pad See Iw was delicious, enjoyed the cocktails and mango ice cream. Our server, who happened to also be the owner, was very friendly. We found out this restaurant is vegetarian and vegan friendly too! They use vegan recipes for their curry and other bases and can accommodate vegan or vegetarian diets at request! Having tofu is a great option to make the dishes veggie friendly.
Vegetarian options: Tofu is an option for proteins. You’ll need to let the server know if you need the dishes modified to make vegetarian or vegan.
Dietary restrictions: Can accommodate for vegan and vegetarian diets at request.

Pretty bold to open a new Thai restaurant in Ballard when we've already got three of the best Thai spots in the city, but Nua more than holds its own. The cocktails are actual cocktail bar quality, unlike most other Thai restaurants, and reasonably priced. The food is on par with $20/plate restaurants like Pestle Rock and Secret Savory--but everything's ~$15 (they actually charged me LESS than the menu price?!?!). And they're open 'til midnight most nights (1am on weekends). Can definitely see myself becoming a regular.

This place was amazing. The food was so tasty and the service was fantastic. They also have late night bites now so I’m going here every time over Wendy’s (sorry Wendy’s)
