I really want to enjoy this place, and I've visited several times, but it feels like it may have lost its relevance. While I appreciate the charm of the historic building, the old-fashioned atmosphere that might have been quaint in the past just doesn't work in 2025. On a hot summer evening, relying on noisy industrial fans and lacking A/C made for uncomfortable and sweaty dining, especially so sitting on hard benches without back support. I felt sorry for the staff, who seemed exhausted from the heat. A lot can be overlooked if the food is outstanding, but unfortunately, it wasn't. The steak frites portion was more like an appetizer, and the cod piccata was inedible—overly salty and drowning in a pool of butter with mushy broccoli. The bar was also disappointing; the drinks were not made as requested, and relying on obscure, local brands of spirits with unusual flavor profiles for classic cocktails is a risky choice.

Loved the food and atmosphere! Drinks were lovely. Great service. Surprised by the 5% service fee for the house.

Iced mocha was very good. French onion soup was good, but could have used more cheese. Orange juice was fine. Asparagus Benedict was delicious with perfectly poached eggs. The atmosphere was very fun, but pretty loud, so we opted for outdoor seating.

Oddfellows is in the lovely and historic Oddfellows building, and they do a wonderful job highlighting the unique beauty of the space. The service was prompt and the wait staff knowledgeable. But the food was the star of the evening. Perfectly prepared and beautifully presented. Thanks for a wonderful meal. We'll be back!

Chicken was overcooked. They discounted it but it did not change the fact that it was crappy chicken. We had a corner table. My wife took it. But I still did not enjoy being in a corner facing the outside. We like this place, we will go back.

We like the food, good service. Parking can be challenging, we came early so was able to find street parking. Will come back!

We love this cafe. We had a good time. However, size of BLAT we ordered was much smaller and contents were less. Trump influence? Much rather pay more and continue to get good food.

A cute spot to grab coffee/breakfast when staying in Capitol Hill. The chamomile lavender latte is a must try. We shared the lox plate with a side of halloumi, which was more than enough food for two! Nice ambiance & decor.

Went to celebrate my wife's birthday. Food was excellent and worth the price. We both got steak frites and loved it. The server we had was not great. She was rushing us through and seemed irritated we were there. Not super helpful, I asked some questions about desert and the menu and she seemed annoyed. I've been here a couple times and always had a great experience, the food and the vibe made up for the bad server. We will still come back but hope for better service.

I ordered a steak sandwich, and it tasted so so. With this price, I would expect something more special. The coffee is bad and tastes like coffee flavor water. The place is definitely overpriced and overhyped.
