Great bagels, always busy on weekend mornings but worth the brief waits.

Bagels were overly chewy, and one even had a soapy aftertaste. They weren’t toasted, and the host didn’t ask if I wanted them toasted. Overpriced and disappointing overall — wouldn’t recommend for bagels.

I’m a bagel snob, and this has been my favorite nosh in the city for years. It often gets overlooked because it’s tucked behind Seawolf but IYKYK. Love this place

We recently visited the Old Salt location in Ballard and loved the whole experience. The storefront is so charming, the colors really stand out! While there isn’t indoor seating, there are some outdoor spots to enjoy your food. Parking was surprisingly easy, with free street options nearby. The bagels here are not your traditional dense, hard-to-chew kind, which is exactly why I love them! They’re chewy, fluffy, and moist — such a refreshing change. We tried the Kippered Salmon Sandwich and the Smoked Cod Sandwich. At first, I thought the prices were a bit high, but the portions of fish were generous and filling, so it felt well worth it.

Another pleasant surprise was the coffee. Usually, bakery coffee can be bitter or disappointing, but Old Salt’s was smooth and easy to drink, perfect pairing with their bagels. Overall, a wonderful spot in Ballard with unique bagels and excellent fish sandwiches. Definitely worth a visit!

Favorite bagels in Seattle because of the chewiness. They do only have 4-5 bagel options and limited cream cheese flavors but I like the limited menu!

I’m from NYC, my whole family has lived in Brooklyn and NY for generations. Old Salt makes the best bagels in Seattle IMO without exception, and I’ve tried many, many places throughout the city in the 10 years I’ve lived in Seattle. Their cream cheese is also incredibly balanced and delicious. Also the prices are right. Bagels should be cheap to buy even when they’re this delicious. This place nails it on all accounts. Thank you Old Salt, I feel at home.

Had the best bagel sandwich ever here. The kippered salmon on an everything bagel is delish! The staff is super friendly and the location is so cozy. Sad that I don’t live here and can visit this place every weekend. I will be back!

Seriously the best veggie sandwich in town. Crunchy, warm, nutritious, sweet, spicy, colorful.

Received wrong bagel in order. Was given a $4.50 bagel instead of the $16 bagel I ordered. Very frustrating.

One of my favorites for fresh smoked fish and bagel breakfast sandwiches, highly recommend the smoked cod or kippered salmon, both are delicious. Fast friendly service, and the coffee is also top notch.

Great atmosphere, great fish, bagels are good but on the smaller side. Would definitely go back.
