Great server delivered excellent wines, bread and salads along with bland entrees. Trout and lentil special was massive ( 2 trout included) but utterly dull. Much better food when we visited previously
Natalie, our server was exceptional and obviously very well trained. Had a delicious meal.
Good service, wine and food. We had the tagliatelle ragu, the gnochetti, and gnocchi pomodoro, with some apps and the tiramisu which was light and fluffy.
Disappointing experience this time. Music too loud and inappropriate for the setting (70s disco?); servers inexperienced, not familiar with menu, and not professional; wines on wine list not available/out of stock. Food was fine but not remarkable. We've visited many times over the years and this time was up to the La Spiga standards we've experienced in the past.
The best item we tried was the Cavolfiori Fritti; it was delicious. Alas, the Gnocchi al Pomodoro were overdone and lacked much flavor.
The fried cauliflower alone is worth going back for. The fresh pasta that we all had was perfection and the salad prima Vera was the best.
The homemade pasta is good. Probably would have been happy eating more than 75% of the menu - great choices. Our server was excellent.
Excellent food and service. A large dining room with a second level. It appears to be an old space that gives off a rustic vibe. I am a vegetarian and found many things to eat. There's a vegetable stew that is amazing. The house sangiovese was delicious. The staff are very kind and attentive. Will definitely return.
They put us near the window, and there was no one around. I asked for a booth and she said they didn't have any. Three booths were empty the entire time we were there. It was not a busy night!!! We tried the restaurant week menu. Food was ok. Small portions for the price. Food could be slightly more warmer. Several times during our meal, we had to ask for silverware which they should have been attentive to being over, like a spoon for the soup, spoons for dessert, replacing cutlery after it was picked up post a course. Nothing to rave home! And in general, these payment machines!!! The first automatic option is 22% for tip...since when did that become a norm. It never has been. Please stop doing this!
The food was okay, but unimpressive. My Syrah was full of sediment. My waiter was great. In fact, all the staff was nice. The ambiance was bland, it was loud and echoey. In conclusion, I was not impressed. I'm not mad but I won't be coming back.
Restaurantji Recommends
Quiet on a Friday night but still service was poor and mostly ignored us... There were some good dishes, but not worth the money. Go to Artusi instead.
It was my wife's first time having Italian food and Sarah was so helpful, she helped us pick what at this point I believe it's the best meal I've eaten in awhile. It was also her birthday and she also got her dessert for free, which was really nice. I would recommend to anyone 10/10
Came all the way from Baltimore to eat the Truffle butter pasta and ravioli... they're that good. Miss this place when I'm not in Seattle. HIGHLY recommend :)
Osteria La Spiga is a great restaurant. Loved the Gnocco fritto paired with the selection of mortadella, salami, and prosciutto.
Just outstanding. Excellent service; just the right amount of attention; good knowledge of food and substitutions; excellent wine recommendations. Food was perfectly prepared; had several appetizers and drinks, plus sturgeon on bed of lentils and guest had the boar pasta, followed by flourless cake.
