I did not expect to find a Caribbean restaurant with this quality of flavor and love in it in Washington. I just landed with my brother and we decided to stop here and I'm glad we did! How often is it that you enter an establishment and the OWNER greets you?! Pam you are amazing at what you do and I look forward to tasting your peas and rice *Rice and Peas* again! Thank you!
Food is good and Pam is a lovely person, but her staff is extremely rude. Been a regular for years but the disrespect was so egregious on my last visit that I got up and walked out before ordering. Won’t be returning for as long as the offending party remains employed there and I would advise others to do the same.
Disappointing. Ordered the ribs. They were dry and didn't taste as if they were made that day. The sauce was off. Some ribs were super salty. The rice was decent. Also had an appetizer and some dessert. They weren't bad. The cassava cake was tasty. I thought I'd give this place a chance, but I regret coming here and spending $80. I would much have rather spent $20 at a fast food restaurant.
Goat curry and Jerk chicken are my favorites. Pam is so lovely too.
Pam was nice to us. Great staff and pleasant atmosphere.
Jerk chicken place was spicy and full of flavor. I also tried the oxtail and let me tell you it is to die for!!! Paratha was flaky and delicious and the cassava cake with ice cream was smacking. And Pam is wonderful lady and everyone needs to come to this restaurant !!!
The food and vibe was great! And the staff was so extremely nice, my friends and I loved it and are totally coming back! Telling my husband about it this morning and we may order some pelau this week ❤️
Excellent spot and excellent hosts. The food is bomb 💣 Pam was really cool (our band played here) The Jerk chicken is amazing perfect level of spice anc flavor to die for! Rice great as well. Very flavorful and great atmosphere. 10/10 recommend this spot
Some of the best meat I have ever eaten. Full of flavor and so tender it melts in your mouth. Everything in the menu is amazing and you can tell Pam cooks and cares for her customers with love!

Update in response to the response from the restaurant. The food still deserves 4 stars as it was very good despite some of it being cold and the small portions. I still recommend people go to support this small business and I hope their experiences will be better than mine. Hopefully whoever read this review can reflect and be better rather than being rude and defensive.
Idk why this person is responding like this and saying stuff about the food being processed when I never even talked about that or doubted their ingredients. All I said was the food was cold, small portions, and mediocre customer service. After seeing this rude and unprofessional response I’m a bit befuddled at the rudeness and defensiveness. All I have to say now is that at least if I go to Jack in the box the food is warm, the serving sizes are good, and the waiter actually takes my full order and doesn’t spend the entire time flirting with someone at the bar and being judgmental to customers.
Original review:
3.5 if I could rate it differently.
To start, the food was good, but with the amount of other issues I don't plan to come back anytime soon.
To start the waiter walked away before we had even finished ordering, not even asking if that was all.
The pumpkin choka was served room temperature, and upon ordering the waiter tried to mansplain to me that it "wasn't like American pumpkin pie" despite me assuring him I didn't think it would be and he continued to insist I was wrong decision it coming out completely as I expected despite it being cold.
The oxtail seemed as if it was put in the oven for 5 minutes, parts of it were cold and hot at the same time. It tasted incredible but I don't believe it was worth $30 for two pieces with some rice and kale.
The jerk chicken was very good but like the other food it was slightly above room temperature and not worth $20 for two drumsticks.
The green beans were the only food served hot worth the price.
The coconut fry bread was a complete rip off, it was one piece of small bread for $6.
The complimentary hot sauce was very delicious and needed as the food lacked spiciness.
Finally the waiter made a comment at the end of the meal in total shock that we had finished the food and didn't need togo boxes which felt judgmental but it could just be personal, but the servings were quite small and not shocking at all that two people finished them.
Along with the food the ambience was fine, only complaint was that the person playing music was using a service with lots of ads so it was constantly interrupting the meal.
Overall, the food was good but not worth the prices, mediocre and judgmental service, cold food, and small servings.

This is a place to go where you come to find family. You find culture, you find passion, you find flavors that dance along side the music that fills the room. I’ve missed my home and coming here tonight took away the homesick feeling. I felt like my mom cooked specifically for me. The jerk chicken smacked! The goat was tender tender! The oxtail will leave you speechless! The rice is cooked perfect! Don’t forget to get you some of that coco bake too. You won’t regret getting into the vibe of this place. Get your butt down here
