A wonderful and cozy place to relax. The cafe is located in the Panama Hotel, which is on the National Register of historic buildings.
The cafe is full of memorabilia and history related to the Japanese immigrants who settled on these streets.
There is a vast selection of teas.
Great Experience! Tea house has a large selection of fresh pastries, treats. Almost infinite selection of different teas to appeal to any particular tea palate. You will most likely bump into Jan the owner during your visit, she’s the sweetest woman in the world with a great knowledge of history on the building and local culture. Good prices good eats and good times.

Homophobic management, known to yell slurs. Do not give them money.

As a Tea and coffee spot, I take my customers here to enjoy the ambiance of an historic hotel lobby about WW2, as well as the delicious coffee and tea and bakery items.

Tasty Hojicha, warm atmosphere and important Seattle history to be found here.
I went to go see historic pictures of Japan town. It was a sad time in our history. While there, I tried raspberry tea, which was great.

This is a wonderful place, it feels so much like stepping back in history with so many stories and lives. The hotel is very well cared for with original details everywhere and as if no time has passed. The Tea House is so equally charming and connected, and lovely cafe/coffee house choices. All of the folks are wonderful, especially the owner - charming, and so many fascinating and meaningful stories across the years and generations. Will be coming back many times!!!

Walking distance from the train station, beautiful historic building with original interior details. If you love vintage, historic preservation, culture, and a real time travel like experience, you will absolutely adore this place. I'll recommend it to all my friends traveling through Seattle. Stay here!

Noteworthy details: Uniquely preserved building full of original floors, rugs, antiques, etc.
No roller bags allowed, bags must be carried to preserve original LEATHER STAIRS and stunning antique rug runners down the hallways.
