The dumplings are fantastic, but on a couple of occasions I've walked in with the intention of showing friends this amazing late night spot, only to see a scarcely attended Karaoke night.
We were in the mood for food and not Karaoke, so we left. As someone who wants to see this place be a staple in the Fremont neighborhood for years to come, I hope they lean in to just selling great food. Seriously the dumplings are top notch!

Delicious and great service. Love the menu and the variety. The Freida was good. Ordered the nutella/chocolate dumplings for dessert and was disappointed that it didn’t come with banana pudding as the menu states. Instead it was sprinkled with banana chips that I moved out of the way. Banana chips are not a good substitution for some cool banana pudding with hot dumplings.

Nice warm comfort food on a cold day. We ordered the apple cinnamon dessert dumplings and the kitchen threw in another dessert dumpling on the house!

Cultural appropriation done wrong. As a Russian expat I was offended: * By the food. The awful thick sticky clumps of dough with some small unseasoned ground meat inside is NOT A PELMENI (dumplings). I couldn't eat it. * By the interior decor. Some gibberish written in Cyrillic alphabet is not a Russian language. Seriously, we are not in 1970s. * The service though did remind me of the USSR, that part was close.

This place used to be amazing. But there is an older gentleman that works there that’s extremely rude and hostile. He screamed at my friend and i when we didn’t make a decision fast enough and then insinuated we were drunk. Then he proceeded to mock us in a way a toddler would when confronting their siblings. I’ve never experienced anything like this before and I’m truly gobsmacked by this encounter. I will gladly spend my money at the Mediterranean spot Nextdoor.

Only one awesome person was here working the shift/whole floor. They were awesome. Food was great, good energy, and they even played hungry hungry hippos with my son. 1000/10.
I used to eat a ton of these as a Peace Corps volunteer in Ukraine. These were better (mostly bc most of the pelmeni I ate were bought from stores frozen, and these are made in shop).
The dude who made my order was very kind and helpful in helping me figure out how many to order for my family.
We also got the tater tots, which the kids liked.

Came in to celebrate our anniversary for some lunch! Read the menu outside and then went to the bar ready to order and sit down after a long day in the sun, suddenly an older gentleman came from the back and in a very stern rude tone said “so what we do here, order at the front, I make the food and bring it to you, it’s that simple” while clapping and shaking his head and basically laughing us off. Immediately turned around and walked off. Never had this happen at any restaurant ever. Ate 2 doors down at Royal Grinders and was greeted by the nicest staff!!

Their gluten free dumplings are like communism: great idea, but turned out horrible in the end. Unlike communism though, getting rid of the dumplings was easy
