I love this place in Pike Place Market. Always a line when you come here, but don’t be intimidated - get in line, because the line moves pretty quickly. The food in here is always good. My favorite is clam chowder and crab roll. Seriously, they have the best crab roll. Sometimes, if they have lobster in their market chowder, give it a try because it’s so good. The only downside is that seating is a little bit hard to find.
One word. Outstanding
Bad atmosphere. There was a customer yelling like arguing with someone on the phone, and they wouldn’t stop screaming and using bad language. We felt very uncomfortable while eating.
They had already closed the restaurant dining area, so they sat us in the bar area, but if the staff had already seen what was going on, they shouldn’t have seated us there in the first place.
Honestly, it was a horrible experience.

Always the best chowder! Usually we park in the target ramp and walk over to Pike place. This place always has a line but it’s quick and fast. Sitting is limited but usually you can get a table and your friends don’t always have to eat their food, you are allowed to bring other food to seat down.

The line looked long but moved quickly. The staff was pleasant and helpful. One server found us a table outside. I ordered a special chowder and I don’t recall the name. I think it had shrimp and scallops in it. It was very good. But my friend who got the traditional New England clam chowder let me try hers and it was fantastically flavorful with clams and potatoes. If I returned, I would try a sampler and get four different flavors of chowder. But I also think it would be great to try a lobster roll. Definitely recommend this place and it’s fun.

Pike Place Chowder is a Seattle must! The chowder is creamy, rich, and loaded with seafood — no wonder there’s always a line. The classic New England is unbeatable, but the smoked salmon chowder hits too. Grab a sourdough bowl, find a spot, and just enjoy that warm, cozy perfection. Totally worth the wait.

It is a tourist trap. Food is good. Service is decent. It is expensive. I won't say the clam chowder at boudin in SF is any worse than this place. The 1 star atmosphere reflects a huge line up + very limited seating.

I was escorted to this hidden gem tucked away in an alley! Yes, a hidden alley near Pike st. In Market place, the line was long, people were excited and my friend I met on the bus was encouraged I wouldn't regret the wait. We were given ponchos as the rain 🌧 was horrendous 😫
Great food, reasonable prices 👌 and venue seated less than 25 folks.
