As soon as I told the waitress that I was vegan she brought a separate menu with the vegan/vegetarian options: most of the dishes can be made vegan/vegetarian choosing tofu or mushroom, and specifying vegan or vegetarian (with egg) noodles. My husband and I wanted to try something with the sichuan pepper so we had grandma potatoes to split... even though the plate is in the "small" section it is enough for two people and it's very filling! As a main course I had sesame noodles (specified vegan noodles and tofu). I loved everything š I'll back to try the other options!
Food is disappointing. Not authentic. Mapo tofu tastes like soy not mala and isn't even red. It's super soupy with no use of corn starch to build the sauce. The Dry Chili Chicken is not spicy at all. They used breast meat instead of thigh or bone in meat. The chicken honestly has no flavor. The sesame noodles have good flavor but terrible noodles texture. Cucumber salad is red but not spicy at all. The drinks are also underwhelming. The only redeeming factor is that this place has good decor and ambiance. Unauthentic....terrible...no real chinese person would eat here

If you want LEGITIMATELY phenomenal Szechuan food, this is the place to go to. Donāt skip out on the mocktails as they are absolutely essential for your experience. The dry fried chicken and yibin hot noodles are my go to recommendations.
In terms of service, Kylie was our server and she really knew her dishes and made some wonderful recommendations.
Great service and absolutely a must go to spot for great food (also super vegetarian friendly)
Vegetarian options: Separate vegetarian menu.

Like, itās tasty, but they really lean on salt. I could barely taste the mala spice, I swear they used to do it spicier.
I guess that the typical American palate is too weak to deal with it. My point of reference is restaurants in China.
All the cocktails and food are excellent! I always get the dry fry chicken. Grandmas potatoes and the cucumbers are favorites as well

Still reeling from the unfortunate closing of Lion Head we came hoping to find some on point vegetarian Szechuan. Love the mala levels but not a great flavor or texture beyond that. Mapo tofu was water-thin, and felt like a tofu soup without any of the unctuous/umami flavor of mapo. Dan Dan noodles were very dry, sort of like spaghetti with dried seasonings mixed in, without much beyond the mala itself. I probably wouldn't have recognized either dish if they weren't labeled - the hunt continues!

easily one of the best restaurants iāve been to in seattle. one big perk is anything can be made vegetarian with a few exceptions, i had the sesame noodles with mushrooms instead of pork and it was incredible. highly recommend and worth the money, prior to this i had only known the tofu and mushrooms dandan noodles from
the ballard food truck. will go again! amazing baijou
staff is extremely knowledgeable and can answer any questions you have with ease

First time at this establishment. Wait staff was welcoming, friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. My wife and I enjoy asian food often and were not pleased with our dishes. I had Dan Dan Noodles. It was off the chart salty. Almost inedible. I let the waitperson know and her response was, yep, it's salty. There was something wrong. My wife had fried rice and it lacked flavor, quite a bit salty as well. We had a virgin cocktail which was good.

One of our go to spots in Seattle. Incredibly flavorful and unique. Some of the best mapo dofu I have had, and the rest of the menu is pretty darn amazing as well.

The food was overall good! We ordered the pork dumplings, the dried chicken, and the Dan Dan noodles.
The pork dumplings were definitely my favorite! Lots of meat and very flavorful. The Dan Dan noodles have a flavor that I think I am not used to. The waitress recommended it, but next time I would skip it.
Otherwise, food was delicious! And the vibes outside were excellent. Would go again and try something else!

Really good food with lots of GF and vegetarian/vegan options on a separate menu. Celiac friendly. We had the cucumbers, salad, ma-po tofu, and pork fried rice and everything was delicious!

The food was very unique, healthy, yet tasty ? I believe we ordered the sesame noodles ? Service was surprisingly great! We ate dinner during a slow time, so we expected slow serviceāit was anything but. Our server was friendly, fast, and knowledgeable about the cuisine ??4/5 āļøs Atmosphere was okay. Interior design was simple. Nothing too remarkable. Most interesting was open concept kitchen.
