Excellent breakfast. The Swedish pancakes were divine! Bacon was perfect and the potatoes were very well seasoned. The fruit/topping bar was glorious! Service was friendly and attentive. The noise from the kitchen/clearing station was disproportionately loud and I was startled numerous times during the meal by the sound of plates being bussed but I'll remember that next time and ask to be seated either outside or far from the kitchen. I definitely recommend you spending a leisurely brunch being delighted by their menu!
Such a delightful Seattle standby. Staff is super friendly and efficient! The food is consistently delish!!! Always a delight to dine there. It can be a tad noisy but that's OK😁
Portage Bay Cafe, SLU is one of my go-to places for breakfast. You can't go wrong with any of the menu choices, but I do recommend you order something that allows you a trip to the breakfast bar - the raspberries, blueberries and strawberries are to die for! The service is constantly EXCELLENT as well.
Consistent quality food and service. Great place to meet and visit with friends as environment quiet enough to have conversation at the table. Nice outdoor dining options, too. New small plate menu options since last visit, which were very good and just the right portion.
Berry Bar was interesting. Bread was too thick and dense...not tasty. I was not impressed for the price.
My sister and I have been dying to try this place for a while since we saw it on the Internet. We were heading up to Seattle for a few days. I decided to stop by. Everything was great. Everyone was welcoming! There was plenty of options on the menu and a lot of gluten-free and vegan and since I'm gluten-free due to some food allergies, I thought this was a great place. everything was tasteful. I feel like the only thing that was needing was seasoning. It was very bland so it definitely needed some spices to the food . The portions were really big! It was a good price, but I just think they were just too big and too much for someone to eat .
Not great. They have one option on the breakfast menu which is a sauté of veggies and a piece of dry bread. Really lame. Was looking forward to something yummy and did not get that.
Some items were delicious, love the berry bar, my hot food wasn't hot, especially sausages, they were barely warm. Drip coffee was delicious, served hot and bold. Service from server was a bit slow but friendly.
I had a wonderful experience at this restaurant—the space was bright, spacious, and featured beautiful high ceilings that created a welcoming atmosphere. The food was absolutely delicious, and the service was attentive and friendly throughout our visit. Everything from the ambiance to the dining experience exceeded my expectations. I would definitely return and highly recommend it to others!
We enjoyed breakfast at Portage Bay Cafe on Easter Sunday. We had a reservation, which was definitely needed that day. It was an incredibly busy morning for the restaurant, and they were staffed appropriately. We were immediately greeted at the host stand and our reservation was acknowledged. We were seated within 10 minutes of our reservation time. Our server greeted us immediately and was attentive throughout our meal. I ordered the Florentine Benedict and selected the salad over the potatoes, as a side. The side salad was enough for the meal! The ingredients were so fresh and delicious. My daughter ordered the Classic Benedict with the side potatoes, and said it was also delicious. My husband ordered the Swedish Pancakes which included a trip to the berry bar. He thoroughly enjoyed the pancakes and loaded up on delicious fresh blueberries, raspberries, strawberries and whip cream from the berry bar. All of us had plenty of food (more than we could eat) and we felt like the price was fair and a good value. My daughter also enjoyed a traditional mimosa, which was large and delicious. I was impressed with how the restaurant handled such a busy holiday breakfast and I look forward to returning.

Disgusting behavior by staff. Harassing a man on a public sidewalk while filming. He said not one word to these disgusting humans but they just couldn’t help themselves to criticize & belittle him. POS staff.
Food offered was incredible, everything looked good. Quick service and friendly staff despite how busy it looked.
The food and service were very good. We ordered 2 Mole Verde Burritos and a Ranchers Breakfast. The Burritos were very good and filling. The pancakes on the Ranchers Breakfast were very light.
We made an 11:30 reservation and checked in right on time. At noon we finally had to resign ourselves that we weren't going to get a table in time to eat and get to the airport in time for our afternoon flight. What a disappointment for us and some very sad kids who had been looking forward to eating at mom and dad's favorite brunch spot for a week. I'm not sure what the reservation system is for but we won't bother if we try to eat here again next time we're in town.
The French toast was a tade overcooked, but it's thickness may have warranted the cooking time. It was delicious and of course the berry bar is AMAZING!! My mom had the berry Swedish pancakes and enjoyed them as well. The over-the-top service by Ms. Ragen (not sure of spelling) was fabulous!!! She has the perfect attitude representing Portage Bay Cafe with such a delightful mindfulness of service, it cannot be understated, she was extraordinary! Please tell her the show, Shen Yeh was delightful and above my expectations. Thank you for making my mother's 88th birthday a true delight. Jan and Bev
