Great place for brunch. They have clearly marked vegetarian options and a vegan selection, too. The wheat toast is great—thick and wheaty. The berry bar is awesome, and everything was fresh except the pears and peaches, but I still loved it, especially for the yogurt and granola, which were both super tasty. Portions are generous, and we ate outside under an umbrella, so it wasn't too hot. Coffee stayed filled. Great place!
New to Seattle but Portage Bay is my favorite place for Brunch. Menu is diverse something for every taste. Service, especially Heather is excellent. I usually bring any out of town visitors with me. Weekends are very busy but during the week is much quieter for us retired folks. Quality and value are very good. I'll be back.
Absolutely scummy servers while trying to remove someone's first amendment right. These people don't deserve to have a normal life.
They don't support rights, also estrogen in food
disrespectful workers
cringe restaurant
they think their pronouns are above the law
Another “woke” Seattle restaurant
Great patio service with heaters and blankets. Excellent gluten free options.
Best French toast we have had, bar none. Light as could be. Actually didn't know FT could be so airy. We might return to Seattle just for that. Killer toppings bar. PNW on the whole makes better iced tea than the South, who knew. Great strong stuff. Found Portage by chance, glad we did. Cozy, clean place. Nice staff.
Food was over priced. Strangely we all had upset stomach's after eating there. Pretty disappointed.
Delicious, fresh food. Many organic and vegan options. The berry bar (although a bit expensive) is great! We went for brunch and would definitely go back.

I would not recommend visiting the West Seattle Portage Bay. The service was terrible and the food was mediocre. We had a reservation and when we sat down at the table it took at least 10-15 min before we were asked for our drinks. When we received our food no one came back to check to make sure we had everything we need. We had to flag down a waitress to get coffee. Also, when it was time to close out no one came to our table to take care of the tab. We had to go up front to pay in which the hostess was sending voice messages on her phone. Will never visit this establishment again.
I love this brunch place for so many reasons. I really love the fruit bar. This location is actually better tasting than the other location. Also, the fruit bar has a lot of extra stuff. It was not busy here at all, and the staff was really friendly. My food was extremely delicious and there was so much to eat.
Review for Portage Bay Cafe I had a great brunch experience at Portage Bay! I ordered the gluten-free version of the Carnitas Benedict (yes, the one with the amazing hollandaise sauce), and it was absolutely delicious—super flavorful and satisfying. I also tried the gluten-free French toast, and it was surprisingly good, even without the usual gluteny texture. The service was excellent—friendly, attentive, and fast. The place does get busy, so I'd definitely recommend making a reservation ahead of time. Will be coming back for sure!
Disgusting behavior by staff. Harassing a man on a public sidewalk while filming. He said not one word to these disgusting humans but they just couldn’t help themselves to criticize & belittle him. POS staff.
Terrible food, terrible service. The staff are extremely rude. I will never eat here again.
