Not the place to go if you want to sit and relax on the weekend. We had 11:15 reservations, got served at 11:40 and were asked to leave at 12:00 because they needed the table. We didn't even have time to finish our coffee. As we were leaving there was only one person waiting for a table. We were just 2 seniors having a quiet brunch - not loud or causing any trouble. I will never go back.
The only issue we had was the proximity of the party next to us. They were basically sitting at our table with a little partition between us. The couple at the table were swearing ALOT and it was distracting to our meal. I don't really like hearing MFers and AH and F while trying to enjoy brunch. Perhaps a more sound proof partition between general dining and the bar area?
Took friends from out of town for breakfast. Everything was perfect! My husband and I had eggs Benedict and our friends had French toast. The French toast was huge and they got a trip to the berry bar. Highly recommend.
Was a bit warm inside even by the open door was our only feedback ☀️your servers must be so hot we felt for them!
Food was above average. We had a reservation ( 10:15 AM) and were early and seated right away. Server was knowledgeable and friendly. Before we had finished half our food a different staff member asked if they could clear or bring boxes- at this point we had been eating for about 30 min. chatting and nowhere ready to wrap up. We hadn't seen each other for awhile so chatted longer. When we were full, we received boxes, paid, and were still chatting when a server came over and told us that there was a reservation waiting for the table, so we left immediately. This was around one hour after the time of our reservation- so we'd been there about an hour and 15 min. It is the first time I've ever been asked to vacate a table, and it was off putting

Great place for brunch. They have clearly marked vegetarian options and a vegan selection, too. The wheat toast is great—thick and wheaty. The berry bar is awesome, and everything was fresh except the pears and peaches, but I still loved it, especially for the yogurt and granola, which were both super tasty. Portions are generous, and we ate outside under an umbrella, so it wasn't too hot. Coffee stayed filled. Great place!
New to Seattle but Portage Bay is my favorite place for Brunch. Menu is diverse something for every taste. Service, especially Heather is excellent. I usually bring any out of town visitors with me. Weekends are very busy but during the week is much quieter for us retired folks. Quality and value are very good. I'll be back.
We were in a back corner under the speaker which was just a bit too loud. Should have sat outside

Absolutely scummy servers while trying to remove someone's first amendment right. These people don't deserve to have a normal life.
Restaurantji Recommends
They don't support rights, also estrogen in food
disrespectful workers
cringe restaurant
they think their pronouns are above the law
Another “woke” Seattle restaurant
Great patio service with heaters and blankets. Excellent gluten free options.
Best French toast we have had, bar none. Light as could be. Actually didn't know FT could be so airy. We might return to Seattle just for that. Killer toppings bar. PNW on the whole makes better iced tea than the South, who knew. Great strong stuff. Found Portage by chance, glad we did. Cozy, clean place. Nice staff.
