Great place to grab a chai or coffee, Indian breads, and reasonably priced entrées. The staff is friendly and attentive.

Madurai Express is surprisingly really good. I think most of the reviews so far is for the previous restaurant. Ordered Briyani and Chicken Curry via Uber Eats and it was really good, very authentic South Indian taste. The meat is very soft and fresh which is rare for Indian restaurants around here. I highly recommend this place.

Rasai Progressive Indian was one of my favorite spots in the city, my favorite dish being the paneer tika masala. Unfortunately, with the restaurant's rebrand, I just can't find a dish that speaks to me in the same way.

Really good food and great service. We went very late to the restaurant and they were very welcoming. Did not hesitate to give us extra food past their closing time. Thank you for your service! Highly recommend.

This review is just for takeout. Not only did they attempt to push the wrong order onto me, they claimed my order was not in the system despite it being paid for and then eventually made it after making me wait for 15 minutes. What's worse is their system said my order was ready! A complete 180 to their actual in person dining experience.

Owners are greedy and deceptive. Don’t look at the prices on the menu. Every item without exception is listed at 20% less than the actual price. If you are going to charge an extra 20% on everything on the menu to pay your employees, you should include that in the price. Why not add 40% going straight into the owners slimy pockets?

Worst restaurant ever! Being a visitor they didn’t wanted to be curtious in answering how their biryanis are made and disconnected the call right away.
Why would someone run a food place if the questions are not answered.

In around 2021-22 we discovered RASAI. It was a mind blowing experience delivered by the then Executive chef Gaurav. We were so impressed by the food we even requested to meet and complement the chef in person. He came and met us and asked for feedback. It was a short chat in the midst of a buzzing restaurant. Rasai underwent some churn in the last 2 years. In 2023 they seem to have attempted a bold pivot toward South Indian menu. We missed the opportunity to try it (busy year). In August 24 We chose to relive that moment for a very special occasion. It is So so so sad to see the crushed spirit of the food. Lack of balanced flavors (extremely spicy), inexperienced servers (they hadn't even eaten the food), just 7 cocktails (I would describe one of them tasted like what the water from a soaked insole should taste - no prior experience tasting this) The promising chef Gaurav apparently rarely visits (IMO he's no longer with them). I've experienced this establishment going downhill quickly. I think they just get some junior chef to execute Gaurav's recipes. I was so disturbed by the experience and distinctly remember their specific items tasted different - Foxnuts removed, garnish eliminated, no saffron visible in saffron rice (just some yellow rice mixed with white rice and no hint of saffron- unlike the heyday of Rasai). We were told their recipes have indeed changed (perhaps cost cutting) while their prices have gone up - like everything else these days. We really really want to see this place come back to life. But given the lack of focus and attention the owners are giving this place they're likely at a point of no return. Wish I never said this, but unfortunately this will be our last visit.
