Great local taproom with plenty of beers and ciders on tap. Food menu is compact with all the classics, and a couple of vegan options - the vegan Reuben is worth a try! Heads up, the portions of fries served with the sandwiches are on the lighter side and you might want to get a separate order to really soak up all those beers :)
Aside from how good the beer is, the Rueben’s Ballard staff really stood out this afternoon. There was a scary situation nearby, and they handled it so calmly and carefully. They made sure we were all safe, kept us updated, and still stayed so kind. It says a lot about the kind of people they are and the kind of people Reuben's hires. Big thanks to everyone working this afternoon!!
Nice selection of unique and good beers. Food kind of average today but still enjoyed the vibe and overall experience. Staff at bar was great.
Food ok beer is good
The beer and the service here is 10/10! I had a pumpkin stout and it was the best beer I have ever had. Bear helped me and my partner order. We aren't to familiar with beer but he had no hesitation to give us great recommendations and kind friendly service! Would definitely recommend this place
Trivia on Wednesdays was so fun! It was a small group of people participating which made it really fun. Great opportunity to meet new people! Bartenders here are also the coolest people. They’re so funny and friendly! Highly recommend their fish and chips, too! Their tartar sauce was so good, it was very dill heavy (great if you love pickles hehehe)
Staff have poor social/communication skills, beer is average at best, and the 70-80s music is overplayed. Seems like the quality of their beer and food has decreased significantly. Great Notion, Stoup, and others nearby are much better.
Great beer!
Rubens is simply one of the most incredible easy and nice places I’ve ever been — and I’ve been to more than 30,000 restaurants in my 30 years of traveling the world. Having a brewery like this right in my apartment building is beyond special.
The beer selection is top-tier, and the atmosphere is always buzzing with good energy. 6 TVs and The staff is what truly makes Rubens shine: Bear is hands-down the best beertender should be best regional manger anywhere, and hey always super customer experience and offering spot-on suggestions that elevate the experience. Kristen Anthony, Jesse and drew Aerial, Hannah, Pete all super great work hard and the rest of the awesome team bring such warmth, professionalism, and care that you feel welcomed every single time. Even when the place is packed and everyone rushes in at once, they manage it with grace and a smile.
The owners deserve serious credit — it takes brilliance to put together such an exceptional lineup of beer and an equally outstanding staff under one roof. Rubens downtown isn’t just a brewery; it’s a five-star experience every time. Cheers!!! Brett
Highly recommended. True superstars!
Overall good experience with great food. I was sort of disappointed in the lack of selection of beers. They have like 30 beers but half of them were lagers and most of the rest were IPAs. They had one red and one porter. Several of the IPAs tasted quite similar. They didn't have a single beer with ABV above 7%. If you're going to have so many beers, why not have a bit more diversity?

Response to the reply: there was nothing wrong with the telecast provider; all of us had our cellphones out watching the game and it was crystal clear with no freeze-ups. Please own the fact that you had no problem taking $1000s of dollars from fans but couldn’t spare the funds to have a proper viewing experience.
Don’t come here for watch parties. Showed up early for the BFC watch party, national championship. Reuben’s was not prepared, which was shocking as this was one of many watch parties already hosted. They used a very poor internet connection and *screen mirroring* to cast the game. The first 30 minutes of the game was completely unwatchable. We finally left to the Barrel Room, which had a much better connection but the crowd there was really drab compared to the main taproom. Also pretty sure that the main tap room had *well* exceeded building code capacity, with so many people using the public wifi, which was probably one of the main reasons (besides choosing a poor method to connect to begin with) that casting was so bad. My IT friend even offered to assist to fix it but the guy running the casting was so defensive to our kind approach that he wouldn’t listen at all. Like…. you’re hosting an official watch party for the biggest game of the season- How could you be so badly prepared for your fans? Jokes on us though, Reuben’s made *SO* much money off our pre-game drinks.
The best of Ballard, hands down. Make sure you come here last as you'll not want to leave.
Best Reuben I have ever had. Amazing beer
Forgot to close out my tab last night, bartender tipped themselves 60% gratuity, when it’s supposed to be a standard 20%. Never supporting this establishment again.
We visited from New York and everything was good untill we were told to go to the back of line to close our tap. How rude was that we had to wait another 15 minutes
