Food was excellent. The Chilean sea bass was cooked perfectly. Gnocchi with duck sausage was fantastic. Tender and the gnocchi eas perfect. Service was attentive
Rider used to be my favorite restaurant in Seattle. Every dish, from its specialty bread rolls to its creative desserts, was excellent. We had a regular waiter who was phenomenal. We loved going and it was our must-go-to dining spot for before theatre shows in Seattle. Unfortunately, the quality has never returned since the pandemic. The is is our third trip to Rider since 2021 and each time has been unimpressive, but this weekend's visit was especially disappointing. The oysters were poorly shucked...literally 10 of the 12 had bits of shell in every bite. The mignonette and cocktail sauce with the oysters tasted like there were not made fresh. Our favorite bread rolls are no longer offered. The $40 specialty house gnocchi was overdone...mushy even...the dish was not hot when it arrived at the table, and the portion was small...what I'd expect for an appetizer, not a main with that price. The autumn squash $ brown butter soup was delicious, but again arrived warm, not hot. Our server genuinely tried his best, but it was clear that the restaurant appeared understaffed...our drinks arrived after we had already finished the entrees. The restaurant also apparently no longer served espresso after 6pm. Again...nothing was bad. But for a $275 meal for two we have high expectations from a restaurant that we used to adore and we came away disappointed, knowing we won't return.
The food was delicious and presented well. Our server and the hostess were very friendly and helpful. We ate in the bar which has a cool vibe. The price of the food was about 20% higher than comparable big city downtown restaurants.
Our server and wait staff were excellent! The food was good but a little on the pricey side. Braised short ribs with risotto was excellent; steak frites not as ornate as one might expect for the cost. The ambiance was fun and it always smelled like a really delicious barbecue! Mocktails were unique though I was a little surprised that one of them tasted so vinegary. Lighting and temperature, cleanliness and design were all fantastic.
The 20% thing not cool ....then having waitress say its only for kitchen staff.......wont be back
We had dinner here the first night we were in Seattle, staying at the adjacent Hotel Theodore, and had such a great time and wonderful food that we ate there all 3 nights of our stay! The meats and seafood off the wood fired grill were perfectly cooked and juicy. Side dishes complemented the main entree and the oysters were to die for! Our server, Jonesie, was a delight! Not only was he engaging to talk to, his wine recommendations were spot on! We truly enjoyed our time at Rider and will definitely return on our next visit to Seattle!

This place was amazing! Our first time to Seattle..so just picked it because it was close to our hotel. I got the Chilean sea bass and my boyfriend got the filet mignon and Calamari for appetizer..the best dinner we’ve had in years! Our server Farrah was also awesome! A definite must try if you’re in the area!

Just okay. Scallops I was served were raw, while they were replaced, our meal and experience was ruined… and I was still charged for the entirety of the meal. No attempt to make it right by the staff, no apologies.

Do not recommend. They charged us extra for bread even after admitting they forgot to serve the correct amount with the dip. Stingy, poor service and salads were not great.

I've only come here during conventions in downtown Seattle. It's on the expensive side, but I know that I'm receiving excellent service and fantastic food.

Walked in w an hour to spare before a show and got seated and ordered right away. Cool vibe so we had high hopes. Our mocktail aperol spritzs were fabukous yet pricey ($18/ea). Can’t review any food bc it took FOREVER. Ended up canceling the order after our waiter told us it’s just another 5 more minutes 15 mins ago. They automatically add tip so $47 for two non alcoholic beverages and left hungry. Disappointed this place doesn’t know its audience. We ended up splitting a salad and a meal at Ruth’s Chris after the show ($45) instead and we were in and out in 35 mins.

Wow wow! The Chilean sea bass was some of the best fish I’ve had! Appetizers of tempura cauliflower, ceviche, and calamari were also great! Dessert list was disappointing. Settled on beignets but they were only ok. Pricey, but overall, a restaurant I would highly recommend.

Warm atmosphere, excellent filet mignon with a generous amount of sauce, great service.
Wine by glass selection is okay, though could be better.

Most expensive chicken sandwich ever. Could have gotten 4 chicken sandwiches from a fast food place that would've been better quality and portion size. The chicken was dwarfed by the bun and mostly all breading. Steak sandwich wasn't cooked correctly and was over seasoned. Sad for the price paid. The waiter said he was leaving for the night and stopped servicing us but then stuck around until we after we left servicing other customers.
