Food is ok. Portion is bit of small. Standard American Italian food

I had no idea this place moved up to Edmonds from capital hill, I used to love going here, and now I can again! Same great food I remember!

Probably one of the most flavorful bolognese sauces I've ever had, and the service was good. Unfortunately the portions were too small to ignore for the price, which should never be a problem at an Italian restaurant. (I ordered a dinner size plate & it felt more like a light lunch plate)

Excellent food and no complaints about the service. They accomoddated my kids dietary restrictions without any issue. Good to have this place downtown.

I might be in the minority here, but I didn't think this Italian restaurant lived up to the hype--despite it coming highly recommended by a friend.

I ordered a pizza, Artichoke & Mushroom, which was unlike any I've had before, and not in a good way. The sauce had an odd flavor, the crust was slightly burnt, and the toppings were sparse. To be fair, I'm not a huge pizza fan to begin with, but nothing else on the menu really appealed to me. That said, my wife enjoyed the pizza and especially liked the sauce, so maybe it's just a matter of taste.

Our group ordered a variety of dishes:

Linguine Allo Vongole - Disappointing. The clams seemed to be minced into the marinara sauce, which left the dish feeling a bit lacking.
Lasagna Bolognese - Just okay. Nothing memorable.
Fettuccine Bolognese and Spaghetti with Meatballs - The folks who ordered these were happy, but they're generally easy to please.
Handmade Gnocchi Al Sugo - The standout. The person who ordered it absolutely loved it.
Penne with Roasted Pepper Pesto - Another hit. Full of flavor and well received.

One thing that stood out: the restaurant was surprisingly empty during our visit. On the plus side, the prices were reasonable--especially for Italian food.

All in all, opinions in our group were mixed. I personally wouldn't return, but a couple people left satisfied. I'm giving it three stars as an average of our experiences.

We came for a special celebration as had heard good things and wanted to try the restaurant. The service and wine were good. My wife's chicken piccata was good and had very good flavor. The bolognese sauce was not good. My granddaughter couldn't eat hers and mine was very salty and lacked flavor. The veal saltemboca was so thin and overcooked it should never have been served. The sauce was good. While the bread was good we only received a half a piece per person and were charged for more even though we had two appetizer plates that needed more bread. The portions were on the small side for the price and were less than the pictures shown from other reviews.
This was a very underwhelming experience and hope the restaurant can correct the quality of the food and the experience in the future.

My wife and I used to go to the location on Capitol Hill in Seattle for years. Years ago. When we heard that Machiavelli had moved to Edmonds, we had to check it out. We live out near Port Gamble, so it was not a choice of convenience. We were going largely for the nostalgia of it. In Seattle, it was always packed with a line out the door.
We arrived when they opened for happy hour and we started with the Happy Hour Menu, including Negroni sbagliato cocktails and a Caprese salad. Both were excellent. That, along with the good bread that came with the table and we were off to a good start. I then had the Happy Hour Spaghetti Bolognese which was perfect. Not as large as the regular menu but it was perfect for me. My wife ordered the Spinach Ravioli from the regular menu. She loved it and insisted that I have a couple of bites. It was also good.
The staff was friendly and attentive from arrival to departure. I expect that we will be back when we find ourselves on that side of the water.

I met a Friend for lunch and we were both very disappointed in the small amount of food, which was pricey. The service was decent, fans overhead created too much wind. I asked if it could be turned down and the waitress said only a notch because it gets to warm in the restaurant, which I totally understand, but their doors were wide open and the temperatures were in the 80’s. The noise level was so high I couldn’t hear my friend talking to me. We both agreed, we wouldn’t be back.

I've been wanting to come here since they moved from Capital Hill to Edmonds. I had a simple cheese tortellini with bolanese sauce, and it was amazing.

I also had a Limoncello Lemon Drop Martini. This drink is going to be my favorite of the beginning of summer, and I highly suggest giving it a try.

Do not go to this place. They charged me $4.00 for extra dressing for salad. $3.00 a piece for 4 small shrimp on top.
40 dollars for a salad for lunch!!! And that is exorbitant!!!
Won't ever think of coming back. If you are interested in paying a lot for nothing......then the decision is yours. Not the helps fault. Just those who own or run this place. So so so disappointing!!

Loved the Capitol Hill location, so I had high hopes for this Edmonds location but it was quite disappointed. The food was bland and lukewarm, suspiciously lukewarm- as I may have gotten food poisoning from one of the dishes. I'm rating it 2 stars because the atmosphere was nice and the service was very accommodating but I'm very sad that it's not the same dining experience as the old restaurant.
