Needed groceries, got groceries, what else do you really need? Reasonably quick check out. Will shop here again if I need to.
I have never been to a store as bad as this one. Both customers and employees are exhibiting rude behavior. If you happen to be black, security guards will profile you. The food is stored in conditions that are not hygienic. The parking lot is in a state of disrepair, and people are driving recklessly.
Always a good experience
Waited in line for 45 min to get 3 items. Terrible service.
Cashiers too slow they removed self check out idk why idc but the cashiers needa check out faster. the only cashier that I remember that checks out quick is the African American lady and the Filipino Blonde hair lady they’re the only ones who can check out quick enough
Decent, but I'm very annoyed by their decision to stop having baskets. Every other Safeway and other grocery nearby has baskets. I usually don't get enough stuff to need a cart and if I do, I know where they are. The decision not to have baskets is strange and distasteful.
Just a normal semi sketch safeway
It's a Safeway. Nothing especially bad or good about it. The parking lot is a little tight and it's usually pretty popular. High amount of crazy people and drivers here especially on a warm day.
Update: 20 May 2024 - they have removed the self checkout and the lines can and will get bad.
bad customer service. Workers walking around, reject to help customers. The African American lady works at this location is so mean talking to customers. Never come to Safeway again
I’m rarely in this area and this store really stands out, but not in any good way. This time I went, and the 3 cashiers are so awfully chatty and nice to each other, so they can be nice. But to the customers they are so rude and unfriendly. I was watching my cashier be so glum to all the customers so I knew when it was my turn what I was going to get. Not a word, nor telling me what my total was, which is like, the most basic part of the job. I tried a friendly Thank You, but I knew I was only going to get an unfriendly scowl in response. No offer for a receipt. Nothing. Those pesky customers. Wouldn’t your job be so much better if you didn’t have to deal with any? As I was leaving, they all excitedly started talking in their own language. They are here to gossip but I don’t think they like the job at all. It’s really best to avoid this place and hopefully they will go out of business soon

Review 1: Frustrating experience with Starbucks deals in Safeway app
I've been disappointed with the experience of trying to redeem Starbucks deals advertised in the Safeway app. These deals frequently don't work at checkout. The advertised discount doesn't apply, and the coffee scans as the regular price. This has happened to me on multiple occasions at the Madison location and other Safeway stores.
This creates a bait-and-switch situation. I'm lured in by the app's advertised deals, only to be charged the full price at checkout. It would be much better if the app only showed deals that are actually redeemable in-store.
I hope Safeway can address this issue and ensure their app accurately reflects the deals available at checkout.
Review 2: Inaccurate Scanning and Double-Charging at Safeway Checkout
While I've enjoyed some delicious finds in Safeway's bakery and hot food sections, I've encountered concerning issues with checkout accuracy. On two separate occasions, I've noticed double charges for items after reviewing my receipt at home. Additionally, there have been instances where scanned items didn't match what I was buying, resulting in a higher price than expected.
This inaccuracy in the scanning system can be frustrating for customers and lead to overspending. Safeway should investigate these checkout issues to ensure customers are getting billed fairly and accurately.
Don't shop here if you're a middle aged single black man. Loss prevention will follow you from the time you enter till the time you leave. I've never caused any problems at this store and I've never stolen from any store. But Safeway on Othello treats me as if I do and for that I'll go elsewhere.
There should be a zero star option.
Every time i get liquor from this store, Michael doesn’t allow me to use self checkout lane and force me to use cashier’s lane where i have to wait.
I have no idea why he is doing that. I’ve never got with other super respectful lady that stays in the self checkout lane.
I've been going to this Safeway for I think 43 years and I still remember the security' officers name was Harvey He was always very helpful kind they had arcade games as long as it's been at that location it's outlast all the other stores in this neighborhood from Fred Meyers to Larry's and Garry's well as I will always appreciate the stores location and all of there employees .I would like to see them get a healthy makeover it we really deserve it and for the less fortunate people like the homeless people that hang around there the store employees do what they can and ask them to please not hang around if they are harassing the customers as for the addicts that have become mentally disturbed it can be unsafe feeling at times the employees try there best to get them to leave I'm sure at times they also feel uneasy I'm glad to see security'officers that's the best thing to have I know you would loose most of your customers if you don't keep them around I'm sure us paying customers don't have a problem with them doing there job for those they kind spy on don't trip as long as they don't have false accusations and grab u leave them alone with out them there would be nothing on the shelves so keep up the great job ? thanks and God bless all the employees and security officer's who work at the Othello Safeway
Good selection of products on a Tuesday evening. Easy access in and out the store.
