Cashier handled cash, bussed tables, used sink, touched clothing and glasses and handled food with the same pair of gloves on, and ran them under water for barely a second like this somehow cleansed them of the filth she had touched. On top of that my banh mi vegetables were microwaved and super soggy. 👎👎👎👎👎

It’s pretty good for the price, but the broth is INCREDIBLY oily. But if you’re just looking for a quick pho meal, you can go here

One of the top places to eat in the U District. And the prices are more than fair! I suggest the Pho or Banh Mi combo w/ soup.

The pho here is very good, hardly needed anything and the broth itself is delicious. Would go here again for the pho.

This place is unbelievable. They charge seven bucks for two tiny chicken spring rolls, and they’re completely bland. I’d skip it next time. Shouldn’t have come here in the first place.

Pho w/ beef.
The broth leaned more on the savory side with a nice touch of oil leftover. The prices were the cheapest I’ve seen compared to any other pho place but it only came with brisket slices. I did miss the tendons and tripe parts. Asked for extra thai basil and apparently I took the last one. The noodles were so clean I didn’t see any starch come from them when I broke it apart which is a great sign. Got the large size- large pho typically gouges me if I eat it all but I cleaned my bowl and didn’t feel gouges. It was the right amount but a tad smaller than expected but enough to satisfy after a 6 mi run
I think I’ll be back to try their banh mi since the plate that they serve it on is a vibe and possibly the banh canh since it’s irregular

This place went absolutely above and beyond today when I made an error in ordering for a student lunch event. I had put in the wrong day(!) for my massive order of 34 sandwiches and somehow -- within half an hour! -- they were able to make the order and save the event! I cannot thank you enough, Saigon Deli! I will be ordering through you from now on and telling everyone a out this amazing service. Thank you, thank you!

This area is stuffed with great restaurants yet I keep coming back here for the bahn mi. Shout out to the spicy tofu with rice dish - no idea the name but legendarily good.

This lovely lil hole in the wall place is the reason I stayed sane in grad school. Affordable, fast, and delicious! Specifically love their banh mi

The banh mi was more bread than filling, and the fried rice was just okay.

Oh my goodness the food was absolutely SUBLIME. They sat us down immediately and within seconds of us ordering our food it was delivered. The hostess/waitress was so adorable and her service was incredible. I had requested spring rolls for takeout and as I went up to pay, they already had my food all cutely packaged. This is GOOD Vietnamese food people!

This was a really yummy, comforting and fun place to go after class. I went with three friends after class and the portions and freshness were very reviving. I highly recommend the spring rolls (especially if you love shrimp the way I love shrimp.) Edit: I tried their tofu bahn mi and it was one of the best sandwiches I've ever eaten in my life.

Overall: 4 / 5
Tasty banh mis and overall great value. Parking is a little tight but turnover is pretty fast so we had no trouble. I liked everything we got and would definitely come back again for banh mis or to try something new as they have a ton of options.
We had the #1 Grilled Pork Banh Mi ($6.25) and the #3 Three Kinds of Ham + BBQ Ham Banh Mi ($7.00). The banh mis were tasty overall: ~8 in long, bread was a little crustier than I would have liked, pate was good but thinner layer, and mayo was very good (had an almost coconut-y flavor to it).
We also picked up a Banh Da Lon (steamed layer cake with pandan and mung bean) from the bakery section, which was decent though not with super strong pandan flavor.
Cheap, unpretentious, good and fast. Definitely one of my go-to's on the ave.
