Was interested in trying their food and set an online order to be picked up ASAP. Unfortunately the restaurant had lost power and had closed which is understandable. However they didn't bother to close their online ordering and had to deal with figuring out how to get my money back. On emailing they were quick to issue a refund. Will update when I get a chance to go back.
I ordered catering from Sam Choy’s for a 4th of July party after having had catering from Chipotle for various other events. Without a doubt a better value and quality! For less than I spent at chipotle I got TWICE the amount of food from Sam Choys. Huge servings and they already came in recyclable aluminum pans that fit regular chafing dishes, unlike the pans from chipotle. Highly highly recommend catering from Sam Choys if you’re looking for something delicious and local!
Stopped in for weekday lunch and got a rainbow poke rice bowl with spam musubi. It wasn’t busy so ordering was easy and service was excellent. Spam musubi was fine but not the best I’ve ever had. Poke was also fine but I found it on the under-seasoned side. Fish was fresh and I would’ve given all that four stars for food but knocking down a star in that category because the rice was subpar. Texture was inconsistent, like are parts supposed to be crunchy or chewy but not...
