The pastas, drinks, and cozy vibes are just so wonderfully perfect here.

Had high hopes for this place but left disappointed overall. Food was just fine, wine was good and ambiance was good. Wouldn't return and wouldn't recommend when other, better Italian options exist within Ballard (and Seattle).

Not good main dishes. Over salty and sour.
23% service fee is also absurd

We had a fantastic evening at San Fermo! You can't beat the ambience of an old cozy home that is warm and inviting. The food was delicious and service was spot on. Highly recommend!
Dinner at San Fermo always feels special with its cozy dining area, friendly service, and excellent choices on both its food and drink menus. Been several times and never a miss.
My favorite Italian restaurant in Seattle BY FARRRRRRR! Authentic, creative, super high quality, great ambiance, great service (can be a bit slow during peak dinner hours), and v much appreciate the non-alcoholic options!

Food was exceptional. Flavorful, well presented and very enjoyable. Good service. Would definitely return.
We love coming here! The food and service are always great. We came in for a birthday, and the two tables on either side came for anniversaries were served celebration bubbles and we were not. Not a huge thing, but something to think about!
Our reservation was for 9 pm but we were very hungry so went early to see if a table might be available. We were seated outside immediately! The heaters worked well and there were blankets handy. It was also much quieter outside which we very much enjoyed. It was delightful!
Cozy, romantic, and AMAZING pasta!! I had a special sangria drink that was my favorite drink I’ve had in a very long time as well! Go!!

I’m originally from Italy and recently moved to the U.S., so I know what good Italian food should taste like. The atmosphere here is lovely, and the food is decent — but that’s where the positives end.
The first red flag: a silent 23% service fee before tax, nowhere mentioned on the menu or website. That $27 Risotto ai Funghi quietly becomes about $34, and at that price, the dish should be outstanding. It wasn’t. The risotto was fine, but nothing memorable — especially when Nolita’s, just a few blocks away, offers noticeably better food in the $20–$30 range.
My partner’s risotto was passable, but my Carbonara came out with way overcooked pasta, which is inexcusable for an Italian restaurant at almost any price point. To make matters worse, the red wine was served colder than our water. While certain wines benefit from a slight chill, neither of the ones we ordered did.
If you’re going to charge premium prices, you need to deliver on every detail — from the kitchen to the glass.
Sadly, this place doesn’t.
Like too many restaurants lately, the prices keep rising while the quality and care continue to slip.

This place is great. The food was awesome, the vibe was on point, service was great.
Unfortunately the bill came and it had gratuity included. I can not support a business that engages in this practice. I Won't be back until they correct this behavior.

The foods and service were ok, but it was a long wait. We waited modestly speaking over 50 minutes for the main course. Service charge is pretty high too.
