Super cute and friendly hole in the wall spot for thai food! We got the coconut prawns, pad see sew, and crispy garlic chicken. Also must try the thai iced tea. Host was very personable and food was served hot!

Poor management. I ordered a pick up with an estimated time of 5:10pm on a Sunday. When I came to check around 4:55pm, the staff said it will take an hour. I ask to cancel my order, the staff said they can do that on Friday ( which doesn’t make any sense). Or offer postpone the order to Tuesday (which still doesn’t make any sense). I don’t leave in an area and don’t plan to kill an extra hour there neither to come back on a Tuesday. Before I left, the staff said she will call again to check it I still want the food in an hour. After an hour I got a call saying my food is ready to pickup. That wasn’t what we agreed on before I left. I told her I’ve left the area and ask to cancel my order again. While I was saying that she just cut me and said I can come pick when ever I want and hung up on me.

We sincerely just had the most surreally horrible experience here while trying to get take out.We came in to get a take out order on our way to another commitment. The server, with the short black hair that looked roughly middle-age yelled at us the minute we walked in to sit down and stop clogging up the aisle. When we explained that we actually wanted take out, she told us that we should eat there and just take what we didn't eat home with us. We said 'no, we need take-out, we're ordering for 5 people'. To which she insisted that we eat there and take our leftover back to the other people. Which we told her we did not want to do.While she took our order, she walked away multiple times to assist anyone else that happened to give her the opportunity to not help us, declining to take the youngest child in our groups carry out until she was asked specifically to do so.Then, she brought out food our singualirly on plates and tried to get us to eat there again and take our leftovers back to the people we were trying to bring food to instead of bringing our people full meals. She even went so far as to ask the children with us if they were allowed to eat at all??? What kind of person accuses a parent of intentionally starving children while that parent is in the process of ordering food to feed to the children...that she didn't want to take the food orders of until specifically asked to do so by that parent?Anyway, she then lowered herself to boxing our food up. Unfortunately, our vegetarian food had meat in it.AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS!!!

And she was fine with it. Anyway, she then lowered herself to boxing our food up for us.When we got to where we were going, we found out that, despite what we ordered--everything had chicken in it. Which was not great for the vegetarians in the group.AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS!!!

This was probably the worst customer service experience I've ever had in my years living in Seattle. I placed on online order, which was accepted. When I arrived at the time I was told, the server told me that they hadn't started it and that I should check my phone for a missed call because she told her friend to call me that the restaurant wouldn't take my order. I had no missed call. She disappeared into the back and came out with her friend and said that I should take a seat and she'd talk to me. It was apparent that I never received a call. She said that she could start my order and it would take 20 minutes. I told her that I was supposed to be back to help put our baby to sleep and could she at least put me in the front of orders that came in after me. She responded that she did a lot of math in her head to quote me a time and her quote was her quote. She said I could come back another night for my order and that the restaurant was out of crab rangoon anyway, so I'd have to get something else. I asked if I could get a refund, and she told me that I should just call my credit card company. I responded that I didn't want to wait 30 days until my statement closed to dispute the charge. She took my phone number and said she'd call me to give me a refund. Two days later she called me and said the restaurant would fulfill my order another night. I told her that I had talked with her and told her I wanted a refund. I also told her that her customer service was really lacking. Her response was that she didn't know what I wanted her to do about it and that I could talk to her manager. I said that was fine. I still haven't gotten my refund. Worst customer experience ever.

Took twice as long to pick up delivery food than what I was told, and was told one thing I ordered - the yellow curry - “they don’t make in small batches” which isn’t listed anywhere. While I sat and waited the extra 30 minutes for my food to just start to be made, the front of the house dude, who said “it will just be a few minutes,” just awkwardly glanced at me and said nothing to me for the “few” minutes that took up a half hour.Prices on the website are all wrong…and all higher. Got home and, for a place called “Satay Bar,” their chicken satay is half a travesty and half a crime. Chopped up chicken pieces covered in peanut sauce that amount to ONE standard satay skewer at other restaurants - maybe 2 ounces of chicken for $16. Horrible. The chef apparently was on a chicken kick, since they made my BEEF pad Thai with chicken. Lastly, I ordered Garlic chicken, but the crispy version…and SURPRISE, it was the crispy version…with, again, barely any actual chicken.I would suggest no one go here in hopes they go belly up and a better restaurant takes its place. I will be disputing the charge on my credit card, since literally nothing I ordered was correct…and certainly won’t be back to this joke of a restaurant.

I went here to eat tonight and had a poor experience. They were very busy because of the neighborhood art walk and they were not prepared. One woman was the server for the whole restaurant, along with a guy who I think was in training. The server was struggling. Normally I’d be sympathetic, but she was blaming her trainee for things that seemed totally out of his control, complaining loudly about there being no clean dishes, snapping at the cook and just being kind of frantic, unpleasant and weird to her colleagues and her tables. Two people sat down at the bar but left after not being greeted in the 10+ minutes they were there. Another table only received one of their two entrees; upon realizing the error the server seemed unbothered. She made some excuse to the table and they seemed kind of uncomfortable and weirded out.It was a really bizarre experience. And besides all that, the food was pretty pricy and not very good. I don’t think I’ll be back.

The food was great; unfortunately they did not list their allergens on their menu and did not designate that their dishes contain fish sauce— Not in ingredient list nor as allergen symbol. Upon realizing as my partner started to eat, I promptly called and they indicated there was nothing they could do, and were not able to remake the dish without charging us. I’m highly disappointed and hope they can update to ensure proper food labeling and safety as well as show care for their customers.

Such a cute hidden gem in my neighborhood. It’s easy to overlook Satay Bar with the myriad of choices you have in Greenwood, but doing so would be an absolute mistake. Their menu is elegantly simple so you won’t feel intimidated by choice. The satay I had was a revelation, a perfect balance of flavors and the perfect size to accompany it with another appetizer. The staff were a delight and added to the cozy and friendly atmosphere they’ve cultivated. Perfect for a stop in on your lunch break, or an intimate dinner. If you haven’t eaten here already and you live in the area, you’re sorely missing out.

Hands down one of my favorite places in Seattle! Every time I’m in the city Satay Bar is at the top of my list to go to. Everything is so delicious and the owners + staff are very friendly! Even with a slightly reduced menu you can always ask if they can make something off the menu and they might be able to :) 100000/10 recommended!!
